Sebastián Podestá es arquitecto por la Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Buenos Aires (FADU-UBA).
Fue profesor de la carrera de grado de Arquitectura desde el 2014 hasta 2018 en la FADU junto al Arq. Juan Molina y Vedia.
Actualmente colabora con el Arquitecto Jose Luis Matea y el duo artistico Plastique Fantastique, desarrolla proyectos artísticos con instituciones culturales, sus últimos trabajos se han expuesto en Bienales y Centros Culturales.

El proyecto se desarrolla en cuatro parcelas independientes de 320m2 c/u. El conjunto son dos viviendas pareadas que comparten el mismo frente de lamas de madera dandole unidad . La casa se adapta al terreno generando en el salon un gran espacio en relacion al jardin.

El proyecto se desarrolla en una parcela de 1000m2 con pendiente, la casa se adapta al terreno dejando en la planta de acceso toda la parte publica de la vivienda y el dormitorio principal, haciendo una gran planta diafana que se expande al paisaje. El otro nivel, en contacto con el terreno se funde con el patio, generando un espacio mas intimo y contenido. La vivienda se silencia dando espacio al paisaje.

Una parcela en esquina con 3 casas, dos casas se cierran al norte y forman una pareada, la tercera da respuesta a la esquina. Las 3 viviendas forman un conjunto cerrado al exterior buscando las buenas orientaciones. Las 3 casas tienen entrada y garaje independiente, la de la esquina tienen distinto desarrollo en planta, aunque su superficie total es similar. Las plantas bajas y altas permiten cambios de uso en el tiempo de acuerdo con las necesidades de sus habitantes.

Una parcela que se segrega en 4, los retiros condicionan la volumetria da las viviendas pero no limitan su flexibilidad en el interior y su relacion con el jardin. Cada una puede adaptarse a las necesidades de cada habitante.

Proyecto de conjunto de viviendas en altura dentro del barrio de Tetuán, recuperando en cierto aspecto el carácter industrial de algunas naves todavía existentes. En la fachada se plantea una piel metálica que permite el control tanto solar como la privacidad en los pisos.
Edificio con viviendas de 2 y 3 dormitorios de 3 plantas más ático. Se estructura en Planta Baja más tres paquetes que cierran en su conjunto un patio interior de uso comun cerrandose a la calle y abriendose al rio Guadarrama.

MEMORIA
Se alquilan 90 nuevas viviendas en el barrio de Tetuán. La respuesta de éstas hacia los condicionantes ambientales en un lugar de exposición a un paisaje urbano y natural privilegiado se presenta como el problema a resolver. La solución dada viene marcada por unas nuevas exigencias urbanas, medioambientales y domésticas. La ecología como herramienta proyectual, la adecuación ambiental y las distintas necesidades de las familias. Se instrumentalizan estas condiciones proporcionando respuestas directas y contundentes, como un artefacto condensador de oportunidades y estrategias.

ID de reunion : 937 301 3848 actúa entre el espacio de videovigilancia y los cuerpos vivos, denuncia la situación de abuso de la intimidad sufrida por los estudiantes universitarios a través del control ejercido por las universidades durante las pruebas de evaluación en el confinamiento.

A partir de referencias simbólicas y material documental, la instalación denuncia la política migratoria europea, visibilizando las iniciativas que operan en ese marco como formas de resistencia explícita o implícita. Los artistas recolectan el material documental que integra la instalación en las fronteras, estudiando la situación de los campos de refugiados en Europa y visitando asentamientos espontáneos en pueblos y ciudades, hasta generar un enfoque poliédrico de la problemática desde distintas perspectivas.
2019 La Artificilaidad del Limite, Conde Duque, Madrid
Denuncia la intolerable situación de la política migratoria global y conecta al público con personas e iniciativas que trabajan para cambiar esta realidad. La instalación se construye con mantas descartadas por ACNUR. Las mantas pueden utilizarse tanto para cubrir a los cuerpos del frío, como para cubrirlos de la vista. Cada manta representa una persona, una ausencia, una víctima de las brutales políticas de exclusión, cuyo cuerpo yace en una tierra desconocida que fracasó en atender a su llamado.

En la plaza de San Bartolomé, una intervención simple articula el espacio existente y hace un llamada a la contemplación, a la reflexión. La situación sugiere pero no dirige, a cada uno lo acercara a distintos lugares; a la disolución de límites; a las acequias, el pasado y el origen; a la preservación del patrimonio histórico urbano; a la conexión humana. Mojando los pies nos integramos con el otro, somos iguales: todas las huellas se secan en la piedra del suelo.

Ganadores del Concurso convocado por Concentrico 04 para el diseño de la intervencion de la plaza de San Bartolomé.
Una intervencion simple articula el espacio existente y hace una llamada a la contemplacion, ala reflexion.
Privando a la plaza de sus bancos ofrecemos dos puntos de descanso en los extremos, dos piedras del lugar conectados por un espejo de agua sintetizan el acto de sentar y lo acercan a su esencia. Un juego de elementos que nos propone estar, observando, conectar con lo visible y con el otro.

This project seeks to lower the topography of roofs that characterize the city of Madrid at street level. These roofs are sloping, irregular and ceramic. The project is guided by the List of Verbs by sculptor Richard Serra.
To make this possible, I have worked with the materiality of clay and I have been guided by this roof morphology, working with techniques such as carrying out demolition, excavation and construction operations at the proposed work area, in the Embajadores neighborhood.
The main construction piece of this project is a Library, which functions as an archive, a place for reading and a meeting. This building generates a square that represents a monument to the roofs of Madrid, a place from where you are able tto observe that inverted topography: turned towards life at street level
This project aims to transform the current University of Architecture in Madrid to integrate a new Institute of Architecture that will provide spaces for students, professors and those who are interested in architecture. The existing complex will be maintained and a system of courtyards will be implemented that will communicate with the currently unused basements, in which permeable devices will be incorporated to accommodate activities. At the same time, the landscape will be worked with, creating new communications with the surrounding faculties, as well as public and natural spaces.
El Cabanyal is a district in the city of Valencia that is going throught a process of gentrification. Its privileged location on the shores of the Mediterranean and its proximity to the city centre mean that it is increasingly losing its fishing village character and becoming an ideal tourist destination.
The Cabanyal of Care is a project that aims to alleviate this situation by making 130 new homes and 5 vocational training modules available to the residents. It tries to integrate through architectural responses the basic care that a space should have; territorial care (in relation to non-humans), interpersonal or social care (in relation to social activities) and personal or home care.
Culture, landscape and production in La Salvaora 2024, Teaching Unit Rojo
La Salvaora is a ruined industrial complex, an example of the productive past of the Valencian town of Oliva. New construction techniques and industrial improvements made the production of bricks in La Salvaora unprofitable. However, it is still part of the cultural identity of the town.
The project proposes to reactivate the complex with three different uses: a multipurpose cultural hall, intensive vegetable production sheds and spaces for free appropriation by the inhabitants of Oliva.
TAC! is a travelling art and architecture festival that takes place in different Spanish cities every year. In 2022 it was held in the city of Granada, in Andalusia, southern Spain.
Together with two colleagues, we designed a pavilion that was permeable to the outside, removable and recyclable for other occasions, accompanied by a tower to provide it with solar energy and a small water tank to irrigate the vegetation that made up its inner walls.
The Milan Navigli Canal Challenge is a competition that invites people to think about the Milan of the future by connecting the city with the canal.
Together with three colleagues, we have proposed the renaturalisation of the canal, specifically in two places, by removing the existing dams and restoring the natural flow of the river, thus renaturalising it. We see the Milan of the future as an inextricable equation: nature + culture + urban life.

Concentrico, Logroño international architecture and design festival
The installation owes its origin to two main influences; to the Celtic root of the toponym Logroño (‘gronio’ - ‘ford’), which is linked with the image of the stone bridge that crosses the river Ebro, and from which the importance of the arch and the reflection in the installation. On the other hand, the fragmentary nature of the vision produced in the work of René Magritte ‘The Signature in White’.
The project seeks the alternation between the visible and the invisible; to generate a new image of the road, a symbiosis of the architecture in which the green areas and the urban scenes intermingle, making it difficult to distinguish between the two; as well as the creation of different points of view that invite us to ‘look again’ at the space.

This proposal tries to synthesise a ‘metacartel’,a poster that speaks of the communicative structure of the poster, a poster that communicates itself without any other message, reflecting on communication and non-communication and the poster as a medium.
The poster was produced in three shades of flat colours, seeking to jointly represent the naive spirit of the project.
This poster was selected by the jury to be part of the exhibition and catalogue of theexhibition and catalogue of the MAKMA International Poster Prize for the MAKMA at the MuVIM ‘Communication/ Incommunication´.

The city generates a variety of products. While the obvious one seems to be economic relations, social and ecosystemic relations can also be understood and valued as such. Based on this thesis, the paper selects three types of productive spaces - public, consumer and waste - in order to classify them and identify their common characteristics or intersections. Three sets of questions (what, why and how) are answered through the following texts and authors; Jan Gehl's The Humanisation of Urban Space for public space, Gilles Clément's The Manifesto of the Third Landscape for urban waste space, and Rem Koolhaas's Junkspace for consumer space. These intersections are tested using a concrete model of space as a touchstone: the inhabited wasteland. It is concluded that spaces of coexistence between different types of urban productions are an opportunity to value the diverse production of space.

2024, Teaching Unit Rojo Undergrad-P7
In 2023, I won a collaboration grant with the university that allowed me to accompany Professor Susana Velasco in her Architectural Graphic Design classes, which she teaches to first year students. The grant consisted of assisting her in her teaching and creating a documentary that included her work in the classroom; the approach to ecology, biomimicry and the climate crisis as a process of architectural graphic ideation. This experience was particularly fruitful for me as it brought me closer to the world of teaching, which I am very interested in.
Some graphic experiments since ever...
I have not stopped creating drawings and collages while working in my studies and carreer. I like to call them graphic experiments because they are a tool for me to discover myself and the reality that surrounds me. I try to make the experimental spirit the most important thing at the time of making them, leaving the final result in the background.It has always been a way for me to express myself and keep in touch with my passion for the graphic arts. Although I opted for architecture, the baccalaureate of Arts and my first year as a fine arts student gave me some tools and techniques to be able to continue expressing myself graphically.
I tend to work around self-perception, the everyday and the flesh, both of living bodies and of what we consume.
