Concept
The key aspect discussed in my project is the transforming ritual to feel
ready for „the celebration“. The components for achieving the ideal „highness“
for partying range from the physical to the psychological.
Inspired by the rave culture, I am creating a shoe that accompanies the wearer
from the mundane, through a transitional ceremony to experiance the energy
of the party mode.
The focus is on the heel, since through taking the heel off, the wearer can get
access to the drink, in order to get into the rave mood.
Subsequently, the wearer stops for a moment to enjoy himself and be shifted
into the desired state of mind.
The „feeling high“-moment in those high heels has a double meaning. On the
one hand, a high heel changes the position of the body, as you are lifted from
the ground. On the other hand this immediate physical change results in a
transformation of energy.
