Our master thesis work has been focused on the requalification and the reinterpretation of the railway system from Alghero to Sassari. It has begun going deeply in the history of the surrounding area, in order to understand how the rail path would have resewed the small rural realities. It has been done a series of territorial studies regarding the morphological, the cultural, the economic and the turistic aspect, this analysis allowed us to start thinking about the program. The final result wants to lead to an urban, social and economical development of those areas that still suffer of “internality”. It rereads the railway system as the backbone, equipped with several facilities, which accompanies the visitor towards the exploration of the local resources around it. The project has been realized working on two different scales. At the landscaped one it has been created a system of sustainable mobility that brings the visitor to discover beauties still unkown, most of the time abandoned. For which concerns the architectural scale, it has been thought to work on the roadman’s houses, trasforming them in places for cultural activities, capable to activate enhancer processes. 41
