Topography: Gradually sloping

Soil: Laterite soil

Neighbourhood: Residential area

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The design of the campus has 3 blocks – an academic , admin and an auditorium block. The buildings are connected through a veranda. There is an amphitheatre and an outdoor play area on either end of the site.

Traditional materials have been used such as bricks and stones. As well as budget friendly and noise barrier materials are used to create a more peaceful atmosphere for the students to learn. Sloping roof is provided as Manipal has heavy rainfall so the water can flow easily from the roof.

Total Built up area = 951 sqm + 20 % of circulation= 1141

•An amphitheatre is provided at one end of the site for any outdoor event.

•A play area is provided for kids.

•There is no vehicular pathway around the site so as to not allow vehicles inside the main area.

•Landscaping is designed around the site to create a increase privacy in the premises

•The academic and admin areas are placed in 2 different buildings to differentiate the zones and easier navigation.

•A veranda is provided from the drop off area to each of the buildings to provide shade from rain and harsh sun.

•The canteen is kept separate from the other blocks because the services can transported to the kitchen without causing disturbance to the kids or other users.

On-site feel – it is located in between an industrial area It is a leveled site

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The design aims at net zero energy production and reuse of waste on-site. The key focus is on energy conversation, design optimization, sustainability, adaptability, and modularity. It takes into account the living standards of the workers and has room for covid isolation.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The project aimed to design a public library with an auditorium and canteen as added facilities. The design is inspired by the transformation from contemporary and modern architecture in the use of materials and technology in building. There is a mix of traditional and modern materials in the design.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The project aimed to create a community that provides the residents with a secure, exclusive, and communal living environment that enhances safety, privacy, and overall quality of life. The project would consist of residences for all income groups and provide amenities like Swimming Pools, Gyms, Play Areas, Parks, Community spaces, Meditation Centres, Clubhouses, etc. Also offers a variety of houses like 1BHK, 2HK, 3BHK, and penthouses to serve different income groups and Uses energy efficient principles in design and making it less maintenance needed.

During my internship, I worked closely with experienced architects and gained hands-on experience in various aspects of the architectural process. I learned how to turn ideas into detailed drawings and plans using special software. I also learned the role of different stakeholders such as clients, engineers, govt. officials etc. . This internship gave me valuable insights into the practical side of architecture and reinforced my passion for this field.
