Vail Health’s investment in the community greatly exceeds the value of our $12M tax exemption.

The 2023 Community Benefit invested dollars are determined by the Community Health Needs Assessment.

Vail Health’s total economic impact on the rural communities served was estimated at $473 million in 2022, the second highest of the surveyed independent hospital communities.*

Access to Care

BRINGING CARE TO THE PEOPLE

Launched high acuity outpatient behavioral health services at Wiegers Clinic.

Centralized behavioral health services within the Edwards Community Health Campus

Built out 12 additional outpatient offices for clinic engagement and case management.

IMPROVING EARLY CHILDHOOD AND FAMILY SUPPORT

Improve patient communication with providers and clinical personnel by centralizing patient electronic records across Vail Health, Vail Health Behavioral Health and Shaw Cancer Center.

Hospital discounted care (HDC, a state law) and financial aid (FA) for FY23

FOCUS PREVENTION AND EARLY INTERVENTION ON OUR GREATEST HEALTH OPPORTUNITIES

Colorado Mountain Medical expanded services through the addition of providers in endocrinology; internal medicine; Ear, Nose & Throat; gastrointestinal; pediatrics and urgent care.

INCREASE UTILIZATION OF HEALTHY FOODS

Improved access to healthier food through support and partnership with the Community Market in Eagle County and the Family and Intercultural Resource Center in Summit County.

Community Partners

Through a collective impact model, Vail Health and its partners are able to help improve the health and wellness of our community members. Supporting other community nonprofits through cash and in-kind donations is a key effort in making a difference.

Through its joint venture partnership in the Vail Valley Surgery Center (VVSC), Vail Health donated an additional $150,000 to community initiatives through VVSC in 2023.
