PROGRAM OVERVIEW
V3 launched the V3 Social Responsibility (VSR) Program in 2015 to help address the impacts the firm has on the environment and to inspire employees to make a difference in society. Our program was created to help provide V3 employees a simple path to philanthropic volunteer opportunities and also formally implement sustainable company practices. The VSR Program is comprised of the following two main parts:
Volunteer Opportunities

Sustainability Practices
V3 selected partner organizations with whom we can engage in activities that utilize our professional training, experience and skills. We focus on participation and service in our areas of expertise versus solely financial support. These partners are Centennial Volunteers, Engineers Without Borders, DuPage Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the White River, Junior Achievement, The Parks Alliance of Indianapolis, Verterans Bridge Home, Indianapolis War Memorial Foundation, Licking County Soil and Water Conservation, and The Conservation Foundation.
Did you know that during the process to develop the 2022 Strategic Plan, V3 added a new Core Value to our list? It is – Service to Community. This core value can be displayed in many ways as we perform our work, interact with our clients and engage with community stakeholders. One of the key ways V3 encourages all employees to implement this core value is through the V3 Social Responsibility (VSR) program. This VSR program is a differentiator for V3 as a great place to work – not many firms provide paid time to volunteer in Service to Community! Please join the VSR teams in 2023 and flex your service muscles alongside your V3 peers.

Recycling
7 POUNDS! of Terracycle wrappers were properly disposed of in 2022!

Do you have a co-worker who goes the extra mile to be sustainable? Snap a picture of them showing off their love for the environment and email it to klasalle@v3co. Their efforts could be featured in the VSR Newsletter!

2023 ACTIVITIES
Activities will be displayed on the VOX and included on the “Upcoming Events” portion of the VSR Newsletter. They will also be posted on the VSR bulletin board in Alumni Hall (Woodridge) and at kiosks in various Offices.
VOLUNTEER TIME OFF POLICY
V3 employees are offered paid time off to do volunteer work with VSR partner organizations. This paid time off is branded Volunteer Time Off (VTO).
Full-time employees are eligible to take eight hours VTO per year, which can be used in one-hour increments.
Regular part-time employees are eligible to take four hours VTO per year, which can be used in one-hour increments.
While the majority of VSR events take place during the work week; occasionally a VSR event may be offered on a Saturday.
Employees who are eligible for overtime pay (1.5 or 1.0 OT ) will be paid for VTO applied to a Saturday event. Please note, as outlined in the V3 Employee Manual, only hours actually worked count as “time worked” for calculating eligibility for overtime pay (paid absences such as VTO are not counted as “time worked” for calculating OT pay).
Salaried employees, who are not eligible for overtime pay, can apply VTO to a Saturday event; however, it will not change their regular weekly pay. Salaried employees (not eligible for OT) will be allowed (if their schedule permits) to take the same number of hours off earlier in the week equivalent to the number of hours of the Saturday VSR event (must be applied to a day within the same week that the Saturday VSR event is held).
VTO can only be used to volunteer with one of the selected partner organizations identified as a VSR Partner. This allows for V3 to form longterm commitments to our partner organizations. Partner organizations are selected by consensus of the VSR Committee and can be changed at anytime.
2023 VOLUNTEER TIME OFF BANK
A maximum of 16 additional VTO Bank hours may be used by full-time employees, and an additional 8 VTO Bank hours may be used by regular part-time employees. All policies established for using Individual VTO hours also apply to “VTO Bank” hours.
2023 Starting VTO Bank Hours: 2,080 hours
