MEET A CALSNR STUDENT!
Kelly Karnes, a sophomore from Blanco, Texas, is majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and Management at the University of Wyoming. Her passion for animals and the outdoors is evident in her academic and extracurricular activities. Kelly’s favorite experience outside the classroom has been playing club volleyball, where she formed strong bonds with her teammates and traveled to Kansas City. She also enjoyed her Animal Biology lab, which allowed her to study various organisms and even keep a fish!
Kelly’s favorite professor has been Dan Fetsco, who made her Criminal Law class engaging and enjoyable. She chose UW after a campus tour during her junior year of high school, falling in love with Laramie’s community and the university’s opportunities.
After graduation, Kelly plans to train as a game warden at an academy. She advises fellow students to put themselves out there and find their community, as she did through volleyball and academics!
