“At EY, we believe in empowering our employees to give back in ways that leave a legacy of change for generations to come and build connectivity across all ages and ethnicities. We absolutely must advocate for a better world to live in as we also build a great environment to work in. This will be the Cincinnati we know and deserve.” Julia Poston Office Managing Partner EY
Too many people are in poverty. Together, we lead programs and partner with others to help 10,000 families move on a path out of poverty with the bold, long-term vision of ending poverty across the region. This is just the start. It’s the momentum we need to solve a challenge this complex.
Together, we can do what no one person or one organization can do alone. As great as this region is, we will never be our very best as long as poverty is holding us back. We have to do something. We have to find solutions together and scale them.

This is how we used to work. Liz
Liz from Newport, adopted her niece Malia after she was born addicted to drugs. For help tackling infant drug rehabilitation, she turned to New Perceptions, a United Way partner organization, which helps women break the cycle of addiction. Malia went from being told she may not walk, to running and thriving like any other child her age.

“My kids don’t have to be poor. They have dreams and goals and should feel like they can be something. My kids get experiences that they wouldn’t get if United Way and our community wasn’t helping.” – Liz, Newport, KY
For faster, stronger change we must put families at the center. Through United Way’s new Family-Centered Learning, a first-of-its-kind collaboration in the country, we can do better. Not only would Malia’s health be a focus, but we’d take a good, hard look at the entire family’s needs. Only then can we make the kind of change that moves a family on a brighter, more sustainable path. Malia’s life improves. Her family’s life improves. Our region improves.
