GEOGRAPHICAL COMPOSITION
The United World College (UWC) is a global educational movement that brings together students from diverse backgrounds with the purpose of using education as a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. Students are admitted to eighteen member campuses through national committees in 159 different countries and regions. This year, UWC Changshu China welcomed the return of international students representing 65 countries and regions. Our current cohort represents the great sweep of geographic, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity in our home nation.

SIGNATURE PROGRAMS Chinese Culture: Every student will take at least one Chinese course, be it language, literature, or culture, creating an immersive environment of Mandarin Chinese as well as a rich cultural context to support teaching and learning. Zhi Xing: Zhi Xing (“learning by doing”) fulfills the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) component of the IB Diploma. Many of the Zhi Xing activities have student leaders, who use their knowledge and experience to help their classmates excel, acting as positive role models while also challenging themselves. Foundation Program: Students joining UWC Changshu in Grade 10 undertake the one-year Foundation Program (FP), which provides the essential building blocks for a seamless transition into the IB Diploma Program.
