CREATIVE WRITING & POETRY (CWAP)

CWAP is dedicated to helping poets and authors network and improve their craft. Membership gives you access to our weekly poetry and prose workshops, as well as discounts on our performance evenings! Anyone is free to join our fortnightly “Coffee and CWAP” meet-ups where you can bounce writing ideas, discuss that novel you’re reading (or should be reading!), make friends, and play games. UNIGAMES Unigames is the university table top games club! We host board game events with our massive collection, from Settlers of Catan to the Game of Thrones board game. We also have a very active Magic the Gathering community, with weekly drafts and pre-releases. Wargame round robin style tournaments are held each semester. Finally we have a truly ridiculous number of tabletop Role Playing Game resources. There are always plenty of campaigns and oneshots being run by members that anyone can get in on. UNIVERSITY BICYCLE CLUB (UBC) We live for cycling! Join us for our weekend rides and weekday workshops.

Our goal is to advance computer science and technologies at UWA and in the community. UNIVERSITY DRAMATIC SOCIETY (UDS) UDS is a student-run semiprofessional theatre company at UWA. Currently in its 100th year, UDS has a long history but an interest in producing work that is exciting and relevant today. Open to students and others alike, we encourage new work, including plays written by members, as well as contemporary and historical theatre. UWA SOCIETY FOR CREATIVE ANACHRONISM, THE (UWASCA) UWA PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB For anyone interested in photography, regardless of experience level or weapon of choice. UWAPC is a community where members share their experience, resources and passion for photography. We run free workshops, photo walks, social gatherings, field-trips, competitions and exhibitions. Save The Children is the world’s oldest children’s organisation and offers many volunteering opportunities including the annual booksale. Our programs aim to improve the plight of disadvantaged children both in Australia and overseas.

TEDXUWA TEDxUWA was born to provide an opportunity for UWA students, staff, alumni and members of the wider Perth community to share their ideas, innovations and stories that comply under the TED motto of Ideas Worth Spreading and the club’s purpose of synergised innovation. We organise events such as the TEDxUWA annual conference, personal development workshops and TEDxSalon events to promote and encourage more people to share their ideas in a constructive environment. Our workshops also build confidence in public speaking and

UNI CAMP FOR KIDS (UCFK) Uni Camp for Kids is Perth’s oldest registered children’s charity, being registered in 1936, and is run entirely by student volunteers. We continue to achieve our aims of providing Camps and ‘Picnics’ for emotionally, socially, and/or financially underprivileged Perth children. We run four day-long picnics, spread evenly throughout the year, and three consecutive week-long camps in January. These are provided completely free to the children and their families thanks to fundraising efforts of the student committee, volunteers and our supporters.

TEACH LEARN GROW (TLG) TLG provide free one-onone tuition and mentoring to rural and Indigenous Western Australian students, with the aim of empowering students to realise their full potential. WAASSA is a student-run organisation that aims to promote the disciplines of anthropology and sociology through collegiality, leadership, and learning at the University of Western Australia. STUDENTS FOR REFUGEES UWA Students for Refugees seeks to create a space for all different individuals, student organisations and groups to come together, united in the campaign for refugee rights. We are an independent student voice, taking a stance on political issues, without being aligned to any single political party. History has shown that students play a crucial role in social justice campaigns, and we believe that the campaign for refugee rights is no different.
