DEAR FRIENDS OF THE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE,

Welcome to our first ever annual report for the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science.

I am excited to share with you the accomplishments we’ve had over the 2020–21 academic year. As we reflected on who we are as a college and who we would like to be, it is important to begin compiling and sharing our numbers and data with those involved with the college. This annual report is designed to be a visual representation of what we are doing as well to measure our impact. I hope you are as inspired by this information as I am.

As you browse through our annual report, you will see the accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff. You also will see the impact of donations made by our alumni, corporate partners, and friends of the college. These actions have led to an increase in retention of our students and record numbers for fundraising. We can’t wait to see what’s next for us.

I believe that if you don’t measure something, you can’t improve it. This annual report gives us the opportunity to measure where we are and look for ways to improve what we are doing. Despite a challenging last year, I am proud of what our students, faculty, staff, and friends of the college have been able to accomplish. I am looking forward to improving and strengthening our college in 2022 and beyond.

Because this is a new endeavor, I would love to hear your reactions to this report. We want this annual report to benefit you as much as it benefits us as a college. Do you have any suggestions for improvement? Is there any information missing? What can we do to make this annual report serve both of our needs? Please email me at emsdeansoffice@uwplatt.edu with your feedback and suggestions.

Please join me in celebrating the College of EMS, and here’s looking forward to another great year.

Philip J Parker, Ph.D., PE Acting Dean and Professor College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science
