Увезивањем два кључна елемента своје праксе, цртежа и инсталације, Татјана Есте ствара нови site-specific рад под називом BOUND, који ће публици бити представљен у галерији Рефлектор 26. августа у 20h. BOUND истраживачки пропитује психолошки аспект потискивања, ауторепресије, покушавајући да нам осветли идеју о нашој тамној страни, прошреном пољу деловања негативног ентитета екстремне самокритичности. Реферишући на концепт Роршахове мрље, рад Татјане Есте покушава овом негативном ентитету дати лице, директно нас суочавајући са њим. Публика је тако изазвана да трага за одговором да ли можемо и да ли треба да икада будемо ослобођени. Несвесно и невољно, суочени са овим радовима, постајемо субјекти психоанализе. Постоје ствари које нас везују, повезују, обавезују, спутавају тако да не можемо напред, па опет интегрални су део нашег идентитета. До које цене смо спремни да идемо пре но се предамо сопственом мраку? Татјанина полазна тачка је лично превирање кроз мрачна места у менталној палати, делимично сачињеној од представа које су цртане из тела, њеним рукама. Међутим, намера уметнице је да креира шири простор за тумачење људског искуства; како попут затвореника покушавамо да ослободимо себе од сопственог ума. Мултидисциплинарна уметница Татјана Есте најчешће истражује на пољу инсталације, цртежа и перформанса. Радови су усмерени ка двојакој вези између појавности и онога што остаје прикривено, често се водећи представом фасадне лепоте као прекривача за прерушавање ишчашенијих и злокобнијих тонова.
Кустос: Александар Димитријевић Симболизам објеката, време, линија и тело су репетативни елементи Татјаниног рада. Целовитост евалуације се добија када се придода упућеност на културно наслеђе, личну историју и уплив у савремене политике. Татјана Есте је рођена у бившој Југославији, а тренутно живи у Мелбурну. Основне и мастер студије завршила је са почастима на Elam School of Fine Arts, Окландског Универзитета на Новом Зеланду. Излагала је у земљи и иностранству, а њени радови део су приватних колекција у Аустралији, Швајцарској, Италији, Србији и на Новом Зеланду. Била је учесник у више позоришних продукција, дизајнерских пројеката. Combining two key elements of her practice; drawing and installation, Tatjana Este creates a new site-specific work titled BOUND, which will be exhibited to the public in the Gallery Reflektor on August 26th at 20h. Bound investigates notions of psychological repression and the shadow self – our internalised inner critic. Referencing Rorschach’s ink blots, the work of Tatjana Este endeavors to provide this unpleasant entity with a 'face' and places us in a direct confrontation with it. The audience is thus invited to search for the answer if we can and should ever be freed. Unwitting and perhaps unwilling, faced with these works, the audience itself becomes the subject of psychoanalysis.

Tatjana’s starting point is personal turmoil through dark places in the mind palace, partially composed of images drawn from her own body, her hands. However, the artist aims to create a wider spaces for interpreting human experience; how we, in the manner of a prisoner, attempt to free ourselves of our own mind.
Tatjana Este was born in Uzice, former Yugoslavia, and she is currently living in Melbourne. She received a Master of Fine Arts (Hons) at Elam School Of Fine Arts, Auckland University, New Zealand, 2005. Este has exhibited internationally in Australia, New Zealand, Italy and Serbia. She has been included in numerous group exhibitions and has undertaken 14 solo projects. Recent works include a solo exhibition Unfold at Counihan Gallery, Melbourne, 2019; A major installation, Blueming II, commissioned for the Biennale of Australian Art, Ballarat, 2018; Project Bound presented at Gallery Reflektor, Centre for Visual Arts, Uzice, Serbia, 2017. Este won the 2018 Biennale of Australian Art BOAA Blue Award and was a finalist in Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award, 2019 and M Collection Art Award, 2015. In 2020 Este will present a solo show at Salon Of The Museum Of Contemporary Art, Belgrade, Serbia.
Tatjana Este is a multi-disciplinary artist working predominantly with installation, drawing and performance. Este’s works are oriented towards dichotomies with a particular interest in the relationship between appearances and the concealed, often led by a representation of façade beauty as a mask for disguising more disrupted and ominous tones. Este has also been involved in a number of theatre productions, design projects, public and private art commissions. Her work has been acquired by a range of private and public collections through the world. Este lives and works in Melbourne and is a long-term artist in residence at the award winning River Studios, a space managed by Melbourne City’s Creative Spaces.
There are things that bind us, connect us, hold us back so that we cannot move forward, and yet are still an integral part of who we are. At what cost do we surrender to our own darkness?
