Salary Data by Industry The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy, the newest school at the University of Virginia, trains students for public service careers in both domestic and international arenas. Graduates of the school are selected for competitive fellowships and assume leadership positions in the government, education, non-profit, and private sectors. SHIV SRIKANTH, MPP Prior to studying at Batten, Shiv was a Peace Corps volunteer. He now works as a Natural Disaster Risk Management Analyst at the World Bank’s Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR). His work supports GFDRR’s goal of reducing the impact of natural disasters on vulnerable countries.

SECTOR BREAKDOWN MPP First Destinations Sector Breakdown

This report summarizes first destinations of the Batten graduate (MPP) and undergraduate (BA) graduating classes of 2014. The MPP data is summarized from a survey sent out to the graduating class in June 2014, a follow-up survey sent in November 2014, and information gathered through e-mail correspondence and LinkedIn profile reviews. The purpose of the survey was to collect information on the graduating Batten MPP class regarding postgraduation plans. Of the 52 graduates, 51 provided data that included in this report. The BA data is summarized from a survey sent out to the graduating class in April 2014, a follow-up survey sent in October 2014, and information gathered through e-mail correspondence and LinkedIn profile reviews. The purpose of the survey was to collect information on the graduating Batten BA class regarding post-graduation plans. Data gathered on 43 of the 44 graduates has been included in this report.

VICTORIA C ATA N E S E , M P P While at Batten, Victoria served as a Teaching Assistant, a Managing Director of the Virginia Policy Review, and an Analyst for Formative Change Group. After completing internships in corporate social responsibility with Sprint Corporation and Time Warner Cable, she now applies her analytical skills daily as an Associate for Strategy and Communications with Interpublic Group in New York, NY.
