Scholarships

Admitted students are automatically considered for a merit scholarship based on a full review of their comprehensive TU application. The priority scholarship deadline is Feb. 1. Applicants who submit a complete admission file after Feb. 1 are considered for merit-based scholarship funding based on availability. Renewal is contingent upon full-time enrollment.

Grants

State, federal and institutional grants are based on need and, like scholarships, do not need to be repaid. Grant amounts can vary and may include a Federal Pell Grant. Students must file the FAFSA to be considered for need-based grants.

Work Opportunities

Federal work-study programs offer subsidized parttime employment on and off campus for students who qualify. Institutional jobs are offered by offices around the university that need additional employees.

Loans

Your financial aid award may include student loans, some of which may be interest-free, while you attend college. Although loans must be repaid, interest rates are low and the terms are generally far more favorable than loans available commercially. Payments may be deferred or forgiven based on certain conditions set by the federal government.

National Merit Semifinalists

TU is pleased to award admitted National Merit Semifinalists its highest academic scholarship, the National Merit Semifinalist Package. TU recognizes the outstanding academic success of National Merit Semifinalists and believes these students will have a remarkable impact on campus life.

The university, along with the Oklahoma Board of Regents and TU’s Board of Trustees, will invest over $265,000 per student (estimated $66,000 per year for four years) through the National Merit Semifinalist Package.

Free Textbooks

TU is pleased to guarantee free textbooks for the entirety of your undergraduate journey so you are fully prepared on the first day of class every single semester.
