The UTSA Top Scholar program is a premier scholarship program that is recognized across Texas for developing award-winning and academically-talented student leaders. Top Scholars join a thriving and supportive community that will help them achieve experiences that empower and fuel their passions. We encourage exceptional students from across the state to apply.

COMPREHENSIVE SCHOLARSHIP UTSA Top Scholars receive a four-year comprehensive, last-dollar scholarship that includes funding for tuition, fees, room and board.

It isn’t just what you know.

It is also about who you are.

Selection of eligible applicants is based on a holistic scholar review focused on our three pillars of Knowledge, Leadership and Service. All majors are welcome. Candidates that meet the minimum requirements of having Texas residency for higher education and are first-time college students are eligible to apply. However, the most competitive candidates achieve:

1440+ on the new SAT 32+ on the ACT Class rank in the top 5% of their graduating class Record of community volunteerism Distinguished leadership experience

Complete the General Scholarship Application

You will receive an email to authenticate your UTSA email account and receive your myUTSA ID once your application is processed into UTSA’s system.

The Top Scholar program application deadline is December 1 You may apply for the Top Scholar program prior to your acceptance into UTSA. However, your UTSA application must be fully received into UTSA’s system so please allow adequate time (processing time varies during the application period).
