As I reflect on my time as the leader of the UTSA Athletics program, I am amazed at the countless achievements that have yielded monumental impact. There is much more to come, and the Bold Champions campaign will focus our philanthropic efforts on continued facility improvements and student-athlete support. We have three new facility projects underway including our Roadrunner Athletics

LISA CAMPOS

VICE PRESIDENT OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS

Center of Excellence Practice Pavilion, the Park West Field House, and the Basketball and Volleyball Training Facility. In addition, we are working to increase annual giving toward our Roadrunner Athletic Fund, which provides direct programmatic and scholarship support. With a working goal of $70 million, we have high aspirations for UTSA Athletics and know that the success of this campaign will only be possible with you – our alumni and donors who continuously believe in our bold future. A NEW ERA FOR UTSA ATHLETICS

Our 17 NCAA Division I sports programs boast nearly 400 talented student-athletes. In 2021, UTSA earned its membership into the American Athletic Conference and Roadrunners Football celebrated a historic season in addition to qualifying

for its third bowl game in its 10-year history. This kind of success is not only a result of the dedication of our outstanding student-athletes and coaching staff, but the investment made by UTSA leadership, the San Antonio community, and you – our generous supporters.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUPPORT ROADRUNNER ATHLETICS CENTER OF EXCELLENCE PRACTICE PAVILION

This nearly 82,350 square feet practice pavilion will protect our studentathletes from inclement weather in South Texas, allowing them to focus on their strength, conditioning, and training in a high-quality environment.

PARK WEST FIELD HOUSE

At nearly 14,325 square feet, this facility will complete our existing Park West Campus and provide our track & field and soccer student-athletes with state-of-the-art spaces to practice and gain a competitive edge.

BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL TRAINING FACILITY

This project will add an estimated 49,774 square feet of new court space to elevate our sports training and help our student-athletes become the strongest and most competitive versions of themselves.

ROADRUNNER ATHLETIC FUND

Unrestricted gifts to this invaluable fund provide direct support toward programs and scholarships, creating an unparalleled studentathlete experience that is geared for success inside and outside of the classroom.


ROADRUNNER ATHLETICS CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

PRACTICE PAVILION

First-class sports and training facilities make a meaningful difference for student-athletes. The Practice Pavilion will help protect student-athletes from inclement weather in South Texas, which is known for its extreme heat temperatures during the summer months. To ensure the highest-quality training environment for our student-athletes, this project will make their wellness and safety a top priority. Like the rest of our Athletics Center of Excellence, this project will directly impact the lives of countless student-athletes.

PARK WEST FIELD HOUSE

Our Park West Track & Soccer Field is already one of the best in the country. To enhance this amazing facility, the addition of a Roadrunner Athletics Building will give our track & field and soccer student-athletes the competitive advantage they need to compete at the highest level. The facility will include components that will be utilized by both the UTSA community and the general public. It will also add value to the student-athlete experience and allow UTSA Athletics to continue recruiting and retaining exceptional athletes.

BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL TRAINING FACILITY UTSA Athletics recognizes how crucial our facilities are to training high-performing student-athletes. This practice facility will be connected to the existing Roadrunner Athletics Center of Excellence. Featuring two full size practice courts, our student-athletes will be bound for success. The facility will also increase UTSA’s competitive edge in recruiting and retaining the nation’s best student-athletes and coaches, who are often attracted to universities by the caliber of their training and practice facilities.

Like many public universities with strong athletics programs, UTSA fully funds its student-athlete scholarships annually. In addition, UTSA Athletics established the Roadrunner Athletics Fund, which creates greater scholarship and experiential learning opportunities. Every dollar received is used to enhance student development in academics, athletics, and life skills.
