Admission Requirements

At UTRGV we offer convenient program delivery options for both the traditional graduate student and the full-time working professional. You can choose from graduate programs that are offered on campus, traditional online and accelerated online or hybrid. On-campus and online programs follow the traditional semester format while the accelerated online programs are taught in seven-week terms which allow you to complete a master’s degree in as few as 12 months.

The minimum admissions criteria for all graduate programs include the following, unless additional requirements are included in the program-specific criteria: • Earned baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or a recognized international equivalent in the field similar to that of the graduate program to which application is being made.

• Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 overall required for clear admission.

• GRE or GMAT entrance exams, when required, must be taken within five years of applying, unless otherwise specified. (Learn more at ets.org/gre or mba.com.)

• Students whose native language is not English will be expected to provide test scores for either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

The minimum score requirements are as follows:

TOEFL Minimum Scores:

79 Internet-Based

IELTS Minimum Score: 6.5
