CAMPBELL MATERIALS COMPLETES TEN YEARS IN BUSINESS Firm Has Grown Dramatically Since Inception

I

n the early 2000’s, Campbell Foundry management was looking for ways to grow their 80 year old Company. A strategy was discussed to grow vertically: offer a complete line of constructionrelated products to its current base of loyal customers while continuing to encompass the same ideals the original business was founded upon: knowledgeable sales, customer service and competitive pricing. The Materials Division is located at the Campbell Foundry storage facility at 1235 Harrison Ave. in Kearny, New Jersey. The operation which began with just three employees, has grown to more than a dozen. With the creation of this new Division in the existing Campbell Foundry castings Distribution Yard, existing Campbell customers were able to view the new Materials Division product lines. This enabled a one-stop shopping convenience for contractors and allowed Campbell Materials to grow. Additional office, yard personnel and drivers were hired and delivery trucks were purchased to meet the demand for the products. By 2009, Campbell

Materials had outgrown its 420 square office and moved into a new 1200 square foot facility on the same site. In 2013 Campbell Materials opened a second location at 630 South Hope Chapel Rd. in Jackson, NJ, and has seen great support in the Ocean County area. The new business has grown ever since.

The rapid growth of sales, as well as the creation of the Jackson facility, has required additional staff to service the firm’s customers. In Kearny, Campbell Materials General Manager Leon Theodorou is joined by Gene Puc, Rhoan Brown, Damarys Mendez, Karen Reilly and Denis Ford in the office, Brahyan Quintero and Harris Freeman operating the forklifts and Lou Tolentino and Mike Thomas driving the delivery trucks. In the Jackson location, Chris McCoy manages the office and Derrick Gadsden handles the forklifts and the delivery truck. The parent company of Campbell Materials has been an institution in the construction industry for many years. It is rare to find a road in New Jersey that does not have Campbell Foundry castings on it.
