The Case Against Individual Tax Credits

Although it is popular to propose tax credits, and deeply unpopular to oppose them, your Utah Taxpayers Association will continue to advocate for broad tax cuts that benefit all taxpayers rather than limited, superficial tax credits. By doing so, taxpayers in Utah can continue to enjoy a low rate of tax and fairness in their tax burdens.

60% Threshold for Tax Hike Initiatives Protects Utahns

In November 2022, Arizona voters approved a constitutional amendment, Proposition 132, which would “require at least sixty percent of votes cast to approve an initiative or referendum that enacts a tax” This important amendment protects taxpayers, ensures broad consensus for initiatives that enact a tax, and promotes fiscal responsibility. Utah must follow Arizona’s example and pass the same amendment.

Our annual Teed Off on Taxes Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023 at the Eaglewood Golf Course from 8am - 2pm.

International Visitor Leadership Program

On Monday, March 27th, we met with a group from the International Leadership Visitor Program to discuss transparency in government and taxation, and the Utah Taxpayers Association's role in ensuring equity and transparency Over 10 different countries were represented by the participants.
