Cosmetology License Requirements Utah requires that you graduate from licensed and accredited cosmetology or barbering program in order to apply for your professional license. We provide the full 1,600 hours of instructional training that the State of Utah requires, in both full-time or part-time schedules. American Beauty Academy also has the cosmetology school accreditation that meets Utah's standards for licensure. Once you've completed your 1,600 hours of training, you can take the necessary tests to obtain your license. The State of Utah administers both a written test and a skills test. After completing your coursework at American Beauty College, you will have all the skills needed to breeze through these tests.
