REBOUNDING RECORDS REVOLUTION

¢ Tennessee’s frontcourt tandem of Jeronne Maymon and Jarnell Stokes is rewriting Tennessee’s offensive rebounding records. ¢ Stokes averages 3.74 orpg during his career, while Maymon has a UT career average of 2.79 orpg. If their career averages improve or stand firm, they will rank first and second, respectively, on UT’s all-time list. Former Vol C.J. Black currently stands atop Tennessee’s career list with 2.47 orpg from 1996-2000. ¢ Stokes averaged 4.18 orpg as a sophomore last season. That is the best single-season mark in program history.

VOLS HAVE NO TROUBLE LOGGING DOUBLE-DOUBLES ¢ Four players on the Tennessee roster collectively boast 38 career double-doubles. ¢ Jarnell Stokes is the SEC’s active career leader with 25 double-doubles to his credit. His 16 doubledoubles last season rank tied for eighth on Tennessee’s single-season list. ¢ Redshirt senior Jeronne Maymon has 11 career double-doubles. ¢ Senior wing Jordan McRae has one career double-double. He totaled 14 points and 11 rebounds in last season’s win at Vanderbilt. ¢ Sophomore swingman Derek Reese posted 12 points and 10 rebounds this year vs. Morehead State.

RANKED TEAMS, FUTURE PROS AWAIT

¢ Tennessee’s remaining schedule features three games against teams that appear in this week’s AP top-25 poll. ¢ Those teams are: No. 7 Florida (2x) and No. 13 Kentucky. ¢ The Vols played at Wichita State Dec. 14. The Shockers were ranked No. 12 at the time (now 5th). ¢ According to DraftExpress.com, UT will face eight players this season who are projected to be selected in June’s NBA Draft (six first-rounders).

80 = TIPPING POINT

¢ In his sixth season as a head coach, Cuonzo Martin’s teams are 25-3 when they score at least 80 points. ¢ UT has scored at least 80 points seven times through 14 games this season.

VOLS FINISH FIFTH IN ATLANTIS

¢ Tennessee posted a 2-1 record and a fifth-place finish at the 2013 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in Paradise Island, Bahamas Nov. 28-30. ¢ The Vols fell to UTEP in the opening round before notching dominant wins over Xavier and Wake Forest. ¢ UT played three games in three days, and forward Jarnell Stokes logged three straight double-doubles, averaging 18.0 points and 11.3 rebounds at the event.

VOLS IN 2014 OLD SPICE CLASSIC FIELD ¢ Tennessee will join Georgia Tech, Kansas, Marquette, Michigan State, Rider, Santa Clara and Xavier in next year’s Old Spice Classic field. ¢ The tournament runs Nov. 27-30 at HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Fla. ¢ The Vols lost to Gonzaga in the championship game of the 2008 Old Spice Classic.

McRAE COULD JOIN ELITE DUO

¢ One of the most versatile players in college basketball, Jordan McRae could finish his career with some versatile statistical totals that would put him in rare company. ¢ McRae entered his senior season well within reach of totaling 1,200 career points, 300 rebounds, 150 assists and 75 blocks. ¢ Only two Vols have ever reached those totals: the program’s all-time leader in win and games played, Wayne Chism, and 2002 NBA Draft pick Vincent Yarbrough. It should be noted that blocks were not recorded during the careers of Vol greats Bernard King and Ernie Grunfeld.

McRAE UP FOR SENIOR CLASS AWARD

¢ Jordan McRae is one of 30 candidates for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award for men’s college basketball. ¢ To be eligible, one must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition. ¢ CLASS is an acronym for “Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.”
