EMERGENCY MESSAGE NOTIFICATION: ARC The American Red Cross (AMC) provides a unique service to military families in the form of emergency communication. If you or your family has a serious emergency that involves your immediate family members, (parents, children, spouse, or legal guardian) while your Marine or Sailor is deployed, the American Red Cross will get a message to your service member and his/her chain of command. If you contact the Red Cross for an emergency, please notify the Ombudsman as well. The Ombudsman can give your Sailor a head’s up that an official message from the American Red Cross is coming.
