USPTA SOUTHWEST OFFICERS PRESIDENT Laurie Martin is in her 17th year as the head coach at Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. During her tenure, she has fought hard to run a no-cut program for the freshman, JV & varsity teams. Coach Martin’s teams have won 5 State Championships, 5 State Runner-Up titles and 5 Top-Four Finishes. Coach Martin is a founding member of the Arizona Tennis Coaches Association and is currently serving as the Past President. She is also currently serving as an At-Large Director for the USTA Southwest and as President on the Southwest USPTA board of directors where she continues to volunteer her time to help grow tennis in the Phoenix metropolitan area. In 2019 she was appointed chairman of USTA of the National USTA High School committee and is currently serving as chair for a 2nd term. She has been recognized for her efforts on and off the court by being named the 2021 NFHS Arizona High School Coach of the Year, 2017 NHSCA Tennis Coach of the Year Finalist, 2015 Tennis Industry’s Magazine National High School Coach of the Year, 2015 National High School Coaches Association National Girls Tennis Coach of the Year, and the 2008 USPTA National High School Coach of the Year. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 4 kids and 4 grandkids.

REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT Amy Badger was born in Wisconsin into an Army family. Her interest in tennis began with the family’s last move to Florida. Amy played for the Lobos and made New Mexico her home. She worked in banking, with tax and estate planning law firms and eventually private consulting in the employee benefits retirement planning area. She’s been the Head Coach of the Albuquerque Academy Girls Tennis program since 2001 and oversees their middle school tennis program since 2008. Amy is the Tennis Director at Highpoint Sports and Wellness. She is also a member of the USTA NNM Regional Council and National board member of the USTA Local Play and Competition Committee. She enjoys her off time with daughter Ava.

VICE PRESIDENT Suk Ong is a Teaching Professional at the public parks at Kiwanis recreation Center and with Limitless Academy at Scottsdale Ranch Park Tennis Center. Her passion and attitude, combined with her playing and coaching ability, makes her uniquely to coach all ages and level of players in the 10 & under age group, cardio tennis, doubles strategy and other adult classes and helps to promote the program. Outside of the tennis facilities, she also involves in tennis organizations. She had served as a member of the USTA Central Arizona (CAZ) Junior Council Committee and USTA CAS Community Tennis Committee as a USPTA representative. She continuously a member of the USTA Southwest Coaches Commission, and a NET Generation coach that assisted in coaching the USTA SWS EDC camps as well as the sectional junior team tennis. Suk also served in SW chairs in Awards and Diversity and Inclusive as well as National Committee in both. She is a USPTA Southwest board member serving as Treasurer, Secretary, and currently VP. She was awarded the USPTA Southwest Star Award in 2013 and the USPTA Southwest Diversity Award in 2016. Suk grew up in Malaysia and was recruited to play college
