Miami Hub Operations Vice President American Airlines
Dear Valued Guests,
On behalf of American Airlines, we would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2023 United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) National Conference. We are thrilled to be a part of this event, where entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators come together to share ideas and collaborate.
At American Airlines, we are committed to providing our customers with exceptional service, whether you are traveling for business or pleasure. In Florida, we are proud to serve as the leading carrier, offering more service than any other airline with an average of more than 540 daily flights in November. In Miami alone, American is planning to operate the largest schedule in the history of our hub this winter, with more than 380 peak-day departures to 150 destinations.
Our commitment to Florida extends beyond our operation to our more than 16,000 team members throughout the state. At American we are doing intentional work to embed diversity, equity and inclusion into who we are as a company. From our extensive Supplier Diversity Program to recruiting the best and brightest talent, our aim is to provide accessibility, awareness and opportunity while working collaboratively with our 20 Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) around the world.
We also believe that representation matters. At our Miami hub, which serves as our gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, approximately 50% of our team members are Hispanic. And, at the highest levels of the company, we’ve had influential Hispanic leaders paving the way for a more inclusive tomorrow, including Vicente Reynal, currently serving on our Board of Directors, as well as former Board members Armando Codina and Alberto Ibargüen.
While we’re proud of the strides we’ve made, we recognize there is always much more work to be done and we’re looking forward to our continued journey.
Thank you for choosing American Airlines, and we wish you a successful and productive conference.
Sincerely,
Juan Carlos Liscano Miami Hub Operations Vice President American Airlines

I am proud to serve as the Chair-Elect of the Board of Directors, and I appreciate the extraordinary staff and team that have planned, prepared, and executed this year’s conference. Over the past year, this organization has grown and thrived under the leadership of USHCC President & CEO Ramiro Cavazos, and I am grateful for his friendship, vision, and unwavering commitment to make this the most dynamic gathering of Hispanic business leaders, entrepreneurs, and chamber leaders.
Each year, we come together to hear from the best of the best on key issues that impact entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and economic development leaders. This year’s agenda is just that – we highlight sought-after thought leaders and policymakers that are shaping the conversation on diverse topics including: AI and the tech landscape, corporate governance, domestic economic policy, and the future of our workforce. We return to this conference as leaders to recharge and reinvigorate our employee resource groups at the ERG Summit, identify contracting opportunities at Business Matchmaking, and strengthen our personal networks at the EXPO and memorable events between presentations (see you all at the Universal CityWalk!).
At Comcast, we are committed to our partnership with the USHCC and have spent more than a decade growing meaningful programs and initiatives to advance Hispanic businesses. Dear Friends,
On behalf of Toyota, welcome to the 2023 United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Conference in Orlando, Florida. We’re gathering this year with the worst of the economic and social challenges wrought by the past several years behind us, and a strong outlook for business ahead.
Since our last conference, the economy has seen a sturdy tailwind of robust productivity, decreasing inflation and heightened consumer confidence. While we’re not completely out of the woods yet — and we’re heading into a presidential election year, which always portends some uncertainty — the forecast augurs well for the USHCC’s five million members.
The Hispanic community is known for its spirit of entrepreneurship and Latino-owned businesses continue to grow at a rate far outpacing other groups. Yet, disparities exist that hinder the growth of Hispanic companies, including access to capital. That’s why your attendance at this conference is a wise investment.
This conference is designed by members of the Hispanic business community for the Hispanic business community. There’s simply no other equivalent forum. We hope that over the next three days, you will discover new business opportunities and connections, broaden your skills and knowledge bases, and share challenges and solutions.
Hispanic business is not solely an anchor of our shared community, but of our nation. It behooves us all to work together for its progress. For three decades, Toyota has been a proud and steadfast partner with the USHCC, and we look forward to the next three decades working hand in hand to advance Hispanic economic development.
We wish you a productive conference and a safe, healthy stay in Orlando. ¡VAYAMOS JUNTOS!

BEN WALTER CEO Chase for Business
Dear Friends,
On behalf of my nearly 300,000 colleagues at JPMorgan Chase, welcome to the 2023 United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce National Conference in Orlando.
During one of my recent visits to Orlando, I had the pleasure of meeting George and Margarita Rivera, Chase clients and owners of Doc Watts Electric. George is an electrician who had been working for a contractor for many years. One day, a few years ago, he came home and said to his wife Margarita, “Today’s the day. We’re going out on our own.”
More than a decade later, from a standing start of nothing, George and Margarita run one of the top distributors and installers of Generac generators in Central Florida with a staff of more than 20 employees.
We are proud to play a role in their success story, and in the stories of the nearly six million small businesses we serve across the U.S.
Even with all that success, we know challenges remain. As one of the nation’s leading small business lenders, Chase is working hard to improve access to capital by developing new products, providing educational resources, and bringing more entrepreneurs into the mainstream financial system.
We recently launched Special Purpose Credit Programs to expand credit access for small businesses in majority Black, Hispanic and Latino communities. We also:
• Improved the application process for smaller-dollar loans to make it easier, faster and less intimidating.
• Launched a digital line of credit application so customers can apply online.
Advancing racial equity through supplier diversity
For almost 30 years JPMorgan Chase has opened new opportunities for diverse business owners, and with a $30 Billion commitment over five years to close the racial wealth divide for Hispanic, Latino and Black communities we are building on our investment to help create a more equitable future and a more inclusive financial services system.
Building a diverse supply chain is good for business and the economy.

• Expanded our free one-on-one coaching program to more than 50 trained senior business consultants in 21 U.S. cities who have provided mentoring to more than 4,000 minority business owners, helping them improve their operations, plan for growth, and network with others in the local business community.
• Opened 16 Community Center branches across the country where we host local events, financial health workshops, skills training and small business pop-up shops.
In addition, we provide numerous grants to support local programs, such as the one we recently gave to the Latino Business Action Network (LBAN) to support a new Tech Accelerator at Stanford. The work aims to address the gap Latinx founders experience in accessing accelerators, supportive networks, and capital.
I’m proud of the work our colleagues are doing to support diverse business owners, and we’re proud to partner with the USHCC to drive inclusive economic growth. Please join us in expressing our gratitude to them for all their hard work and for bringing us together this week to chart the way forward.
Have a great conference!

On behalf of Nationwide, I’d like to commend the USHCC and its network of more than 260 local chambers around the country for the tremendous work they do to equip Hispanic business owners with necessary resources and advocacy. This work, however, takes more than just their efforts to foster a truly inclusive and prosperous business landscape for all.
As a company that exists to protect people, businesses and futures with extraordinary care, Nationwide demonstrates its commitment to supporting small and diverse businesses in many ways, including opportunities available at this conference.
We believe that our suppliers should reflect the communities we serve. Dear Friends,
On behalf of PNC, we’re honored to welcome more than 2,000 attendees to the 2023 United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Conference, the largest annual gathering of Hispanic leaders in America.
J. REYMUNDO OCAÑAS Managing Director, Community Development Banking PNC Bank
We celebrate the strength of Latinos .
Latinos are making a difference, and at PNC, we want to be part of their journey. This is why, during Hispanic Heritage Month and year-round, we are committed to supporting our local communities, employees, and Hispanic customers. Learn more in: www.pnc.com/hispanicheritage
Every day, PNC’s 61,000 team members work with organizations like the USHCC to put our capital and capacity to work in the communities we serve. At PNC, we’re approaching our community development banking efforts with a more deliberate focus on financial wellness, and economic empowerment to move all forward financially.
Through our Community Benefits Plan, which began on Jan.1, 2022, we’ve pledged $88 billion in loans, investments and other financial support to advance homeownership, small business development and economic development in the communities we serve coast to coast. One year into the plan, we’ve delivered $35.1 billion to bolster economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income (LMI) individuals, communities, and people of color.
That’s transformational lending and investments that build on PNC’s existing efforts to reduce systemic barriers and drive more capital into Black- and Brown-owned businesses. Last year, PNC delivered more than $5.2 billion in small business loans and investments across our footprint and increased our procurement opportunities with diverse suppliers $335 million, including more than $246 million spent with minority-owned firms.
PNC also continues to deliver on our commitment to help provide capacity-building resources to Black and Hispanic business owners. In 2022, we launched the Minority Business Development Group with the intent to deliver products, solutions, expertise and resources focused on developing and accelerating minority-owned businesses across the country.
As an extension of our ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive financial services system, we’re also working to build strategic alliances with community lenders and organizations focused on advancing business growth in LMI and communities of color.
Recently, PNC collaborated with USHCC and other Latino business leaders to develop “Accelerating Hispanic Entrepreneurial Growth,” a free webcast and resource guide for Hispanic-owned small business owners. Strategic alliances like these are just one more way we’re working together to support Hispanic communities and the Hispanic small business sector.
Small businesses are the lifeblood of the U.S. economy. And together, we need to do all we can to support these ecosystems. Thank you to USHCC for inviting PNC as a returning sponsor and we look forward to working with of all you as we advance efforts to empower prosperity for all.

IN HER FOOTSTEPS
An Uplifting Initiative to Elevate and Celebrate Latina Leadership
In Her Footsteps is a movement to highlight Latina leadership through personal stories of triumph, inspiration, and resilience. This initiative looks to provide the community with helpful information, resources, and strategies to support entrepreneurs and executives through the contributions of Latina leaders across all sectors.
In Her Footsteps was initially launched in 2018, thanks to the partnership and community investments of Bank of America, to develop a podcast to feature Latina executives from all sectors to share what it’s like to follow in her footsteps. The podcast has since become a digital series launching later this year and will feature 10 Latina entrepreneurs on what they have learned running and growing a business, including topics such as access to capital and balancing their family and business needs. The USHCC Educational Fund is looking to expand its programming to address opportunities to uplift Latinas across all sectors, and develop a space to nurture and support their journey.
GREEN BUILDS BUSINESS
Greening the Supply Chain Program
The USHCC Green Builds Business Program seeks to invite Hispanic businesses to become green suppliers and be part of the solution to transform the supply chain with proven green best practices. Program participants receive business coaching on how to identify, design and implement green projects with an aim to achieve a triple bottom line of results that lower costs, reduce environmental impacts, and support the wellbeing of communities.
USHCC PROGRAMS
USHCC CHAMBER COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM
Powered by Wells Fargo, Google, PayPal, and Allivate Impact Capital (subsidiary of Woodforest National Bank)
USHCC’s Chamber Community Grant Program partners with organizations committed to supporting the Hispanic entrepreneur ecosystem through Chamber investments with local USHCC Hispanic Chambers. Each year, partners provide multiple grants at various ranges to support local chambers in partnership with USHCC. This program supports a variety of topics including empowering Latina entrepreneurs, promoting green energy, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Past grant allocations have ranged from $2,500 to $15,000.
This year, Wells Fargo will be announcing their Chamber Community Grants during Monday’s morning plenary to strengthen and foster the growth of small business communities. Additional Chamber Community Grants will be deployed later this fall and in spring 2024 with our three remaining partners invested in this effort.
USHCC BUSINESS MATCHMAKING Facilitating Procurement Opportunities in Real Time
This program was launched with the support of Toyota committing to greening the supply chain at their organization and by investing in Hispanic suppliers interested in learning how to integrate green best practices into their business operations.
The USHCC Business Matchmaking is a unique forum that takes place at each of USHCC signature events (National Conference, Legislative Summit, and Energy Summit) where procurement representatives from USHCC corporate partner membership, Fortune 500 companies, and federal agencies have an opportunity to meet with Hispanic suppliers from USHCC’s Hispanic Business Enterprise (HBE) membership. These Business Matchmaking sessions with buyers and Hispanic suppliers represent hundreds of million dollars of business procurement opportunities. Matchmaking sessions typically last about 15 minutes, with an opportunity for Hispanic suppliers to pre-register using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICs) codes (or business categories) and highlighting their business capability statement and certifications. Matchmaking is offered virtually for HBE’s that can’t attend in person and want to connect with a corporate or agency buyer. This program is part of USHCC’s top three priorities to increase the flow of capital opportunities to Hispanic entrepreneurs in partnership with committed supplier diversity initiatives.
USHCC PROGRAMS
USHCC and Educational Fund Collaborations with Partners on Program Specific Initiatives
SUPPLIER READINESS BOOTCAMP WITH THE ANHEUSER-BUSCH FOUNDATION
Preparing Hispanic Suppliers to Increase Their Procurement Opportunity
The USHCC Educational Fund (USHCCEF) partnered with Anheuser-Busch Foundation to provide a program specifically to increase the readiness of Hispanic suppliers. This year, USHCCEF and the Foundation launched a two-day virtual summit to provide a comprehensive overview of the procurement process Anheuser-Busch utilizes to engage suppliers across various categories at their company. These TED Talkstyle sessions covered a range of topics from the best forms of communication on opportunities to how to assess a procurement opportunity to ensure there is alignment. This best-practice summit on navigating the procurement and contracting process successfully is a core tenet of USHCC’s focus areas to provide supplier development learning to the USHCC network. Data shows that diverse suppliers receive less than 2% of all contracting dollars from corporate and federal procurement opportunities.

The ODP Corporation (parent company to Office Depot, ODP Business Solutions, Varis, and Veyer) is the initiative’s founding partner. The NCR Foundation also supported Elevate Together as a corporate partner in the initiative’s foundation year. USHCC is honored to be a partner of Elevate Together for a third year in a row. Through the partnership, technical assistance support is provided to select USHCC Chamber members including a cash grant program for each Chamber to deploy grants directly to entrepreneurs within specific cities aligned with ODP’s geographic locations.
GROW WITH GOOGLE A Latino-Owned Business Training
In partnership with the USHCC, the Grow with Google program offers free training and tools to help HBEs and entrepreneurs to grow their skills, careers, or businesses. Participants can earn Google Career Certificates and learn job-ready skills in fast growing fields like IT, project management, data analytics, and UX design. No experience necessary to enroll.

THE CAPITAL READINESS PROGRAM (CRP)
The CRP with the Department of Commerce’s, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA)
The USHCC will launch the Capital Readiness Program with the MBDA later this fall in partnership with select regional Hispanic Chambers with a track record of running accelerator programs, managing public and private partnerships, and in alignment with the MBDA’s capital priorities. Through the CRP initiative, the USHCC and partners will aid our Hispanic entrepreneurs seeking to scale their businesses to access various forms of capital, provide support for government programs such as State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), and accelerate the capacity and growth of Hispanic businesses in line with the mission of our organization.
The USHCC’s Educational Fund is one of 43 organizations in the country to be a recipient of the MBDA’s largest grant to date – $125 million. Over the course of four years with a grant of $3 million dollars, the USHCC will work toward closing the entrepreneurship gap in the Hispanic community using the framework of the Educational Fund accelerator program, Avanzar, launched in 2019 to help accelerate the growth of Hispanic businesses thanks to the leadership and support of Wells Fargo.
THE U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, SBA COMMUNITY NAVIGATOR PROGRAM
The purpose of the SBA Community Navigator Program is to work with historically underserved communities serving small businesses with local economic development groups, activating community resource partners, and working with states and local municipalities to amplify existing resources while creating opportunities for access. The USHCC has been deploying this program since 2021, providing grant opportunities and resources to individuals looking to start or grow their business.
In 2021, the USHCC was awarded $5 million dollars for the SBA Community Navigator Pilot Program. Selected from a pool of more than 5,000 organization applicants, as one of eight National Tier One awardees for this highly competitive program, the USHCC is grateful to have supported many Hispanic members on their entrepreneurial journey to success.
CHAMBER LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE
The USHCC is one of four partners of the Chamber Leadership Alliance along with the the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. Universal Telemundo Enterprises, in partnership with the USHCC, launched the “Nuestros Negocios”(“Our Businesses”) nationwide campaign under the umbrella of Telemundo’s awardwinning platform “El Poder En Ti” (“The Power in You”). The multiplatform campaign will tap into Telemundo’s network, local stations, digital and social platforms to spotlight small and medium-sized Hispanic-owned businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and promote their services to help them sustain their businesses through these challenging times.
UPS UNSTOPPABLE
UPS is committed to keeping Hispanic-owned small businesses moving forward. COVID-19 has impacted small businesses across the board and the minority and small business community has been hit especially hard.
VERIZON SMALL BUSINESS DIGITAL READY PROGRAM
More than 100,000 small businesses closed due to the pandemic, with a disproportionate impact on Latinx and black-owned small businesses. The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce partnered with Verizon Small Business Digital Ready to offer businesses support, aiming to enable digital readiness and drive digital transformation through a customized curriculum that accounts for industry, size, and interests.
In partnership with Next Street and Local Initiatives Support Corp (LISC), the Verizon Small Business Digital Ready online curriculum is designed to give small businesses the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital economy, including access to personalized learning plans, coaching from experts and networking opportunities with diverse, industry-specific businesses. The USHCC is proud to work with Verizon to reach the businesses most in need of support.
Local restaurants need delivery and pickup orders now more than ever. The USHCC Educational Fund was proud to join forces with the Grubhub Community Relief Fund. Small donations made a big impact. Customers were instructed to donate their change to the Grubhub Community Relief Fund at Checkout. Donations went to charitable organizations supporting local restaurants and drivers impacted by COVID-19.
LYFT
THANK YOU TO OUR PARTNERS WHO SUPPORTED OUR MISSION THROUGH CHALLENGING TIMES DURING THE PANDEMIC.
The USHCC received two grants to provide vaccine access codes through Lyft via our chamber network, targeting specific high-risk COVID cities. Consumers could request up to four round-trip codes, to allow for rides to and from each of their vaccine dose appointments, as well as booster appointments.
Grateful for your leadership and commitment to help Hispanic businesses.

At AT&T, connectivity is at our core. And we know many people need help getting internet access and thriving online.
WE’RE HELPING INCREASE CONNECTIVITY BY PROVIDING:
One way we’re meeting community needs is through our AT&T Connected Learning Centers. At these centers, we provide connectivity and technology, digital literacy, and digital learning solutions all under one roof for students and families in underserved communities so they can complete assignments, participate in virtual learning, look for jobs and more.
It’s part of our $2 billion commitment to help bridge the digital divide and remove barriers to broadband access, affordability, and adoption of tech.
In the spotlight: All our AT&T Connected Learning Centers provide internet access and educational tools. Here are some examples of local organizations we partner with to provide these resources.
Cleveland | Esperanza: Esperanza—a nonprofit that provides free personalized mentoring, leadership building, comprehensive post-secondary and family support to the Hispanic students and families of Northeast Ohio—is home to one of our Connected Learning Centers in Cleveland.
Los Angeles | Salvadoran American Leadership & Educational Fund: One of our three Connected Learning Centers in Los Angeles is housed at the Salvadoran American Leadership and Educational Fund, which serves the Latino community in the city’s downtown area.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Chicago New Life Centers: At New Life Centers of Chicagoland, where we launched our second Chicago Connected Learning Center, community members can find computers and free high-speed internet, in addition to the fruits and vegetables in the local food pantry.
We’ve opened 25 Connected Learning Centers with plans to reach a total of more than 50 centers across the U.S. by mid-2024. Now, we have centers in:
