II-ThePurpose

....................................................................................... To develop a spirit of inquiry into the lived experience of life in the ‘temporary learning community’ in order to promote transformation in a globalized world.

III-TheMethod

....................................................................................... The participant staff and the participant members will be working in different roles as authors (passive or active) in the creation of a temporary learning community. Each participant will take up different roles and responsibilities in the various subsystems that form the totality of the Learning Community System (The Institution). •

Based on the experience of being a participant member of the community, each person will be able to reflect on how he or she behaves in it, how s/he is perceived by the group, how s/he impacts it and in turn is impacted by it. In that way, each participant will reach an understanding of what a system is, the purpose that it serves, the roles s/he takes within it with the opportunity to transform his/her roles and thereby transforming the system.

Each participant will be able to discover how his/her conscious and unconscious experience is conditioned by their inner world and by the processes of the group.

In the learning process, feelings, dreams, physical sensations, fantasies, wishes and desires are resources offering each participant a valuable source of information about themselves and about the community as a system.

The Learning Community System is an experiential learning event with no lectures or key note speakers. The only indispensable precondition is the desire to explore, discover and learn from lived experience, a non-conventional way of learning requiring no previous training or specific type of education. Participants (members and staff ) will learn from their own experience of interacting with others. Opportunities to explore new roles, understand the repetition of current roles, the taking up of leadership and experiencing the effects of one's own authority and the authority of others on the system.
