Studying at USC Annenberg The USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism’s academic rigor, experiential learning opportunities, unparalleled network and stateof-the-art facilities allow students to develop intellectual, professional and ethical depth as they engage with our expert faculty. As an epicenter for critical conversations among scholars, industry leaders and cultural icons, USC Annenberg prepares students to advance in the fields of communication, journalism and public relations.

Communication (BA) Students gain a theoretical framework for how messages — from the interpersonal to mass media — are informed, created, distributed and consumed. As students explore social, cultural, rhetorical and organizational communication processes, they will study, participate in, and critique ever-evolving power structures in education, politics, management, technology, entertainment, government, and nongovernmental institutions.

Public Relations and Advertising (BA) From developing brand messages to establishing a content strategy to implementing social media campaigns, students learn how to advocate on behalf of a person, brand or organization. With our stories and messages carrying greater influence than ever before, we not only have the capability, but the imperative, to make our voices heard. Students will learn how to craft comprehensive public relations campaigns grounded in innovative multiplatform content and audience insight mining.

Journalism (BA) Students will develop the leading-edge multimedia reporting skills — and the foundational journalistic values and ethical standards — that will prepare them to tell stories with impact. Students will learn to embrace technology, assess it critically and use it in the service of powerful and effective journalism as they report, write and produce news stories across platforms. Our innovative curriculum allows students to acquire fundamental knowledge in critical areas such as media literacy, civic engagement, coding for storytelling, and law and ethics for the digital age.
