UREC GUEST PASSES Current UREC members are permitted to purchase guest passes for friends and family. All prices reflect per person rates. Only three guests are allowed per member per visit. Guests must present a government-issued picture ID to gain access to UREC facilities.

Members may purchase guest passes in advance.

Members are responsible for their guests and must remain with them while using the HPER Building or the UREC Fitness Center, which is located in the Arkansas Union.

The UREC Fitness Center is located on the second floor of the Arkansas Union. The facility features nearly 6,000 square feet of fitness floor space, a 1,500 square foot exercise room, and men and women’s locker and shower facilities.

The facility is available to all current UREC members.

Memberships may be purchased at either the UREC Main Office (HPER 225) or UREC Fitness Center Front Desk. Student memberships are included in tuition.

HIRING OF SPORTS OFFICIALS No previous officiating experience is necessary as the rules, trainings, and mechanics will be taught. All that is required is some general sports knowledge, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Officials are needed for: Flag Football, Futsal and Indoor Volleyball.

NEW OFFICIALS ORIENTATION If students plan on becoming an Intramural Sports Official, they must attend either orientation session, Tuesday, September 5th or Monday, September 18th.

Start the year off right with this free event that features games, food, prizes, and the official UREC Full House t-shirt.

The Club Sports fair will be held during Razorbash U at the Union Mall. Come and learn more about over two dozen club sports that compete at local, regional, and national levels.

TEAM TRIVIA LEAGUE DATES: October 23, October 30 or November 6 PLACE: HPER 103 Test your sports team trivia knowledge on one of the dates above. The two highest team scores from each week will advance and compete in the League Finale on 11/13. Refreshments will be provided on each night. Visit FusionIM for more information.

UREC GLOW DATE: Thursday, October 26 TIME: 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Add a spooky spin to your climbing, cycling, and group fitness workout. UREC will be offering these activities in black light settings with a Halloween theme.

CANDLELIGHT YOGA DATE: Thursday, December 7 TIME: 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. PLACE: HPER 220 Come relax and unwind before finals with two hours of restorative yoga. This class is free to attend.

FITOBER DATE: Month of October Walk or run and log your mileage online to earn a free pair of UREC performance socks. This program is open to all U of A students, faculty and staff. UREC membership is not required. There will also be a team competition option. Register

University of Arkansas students, faculty, and staff with a UREC membership are eligible to take Group Fitness classes at no cost. The schedule is available online at urec.uark.edu and the UREC app. Search “urecarkansas” in the app store.

Classes will be held Monday, August 21st – Thursday, December 7th. Classes are not held on academic holidays or other days on which the University is closed.

AQUATICS

SWIM LESSONS ADULT: This beginner class teaches the basics of swimming, which include breathing, floating, gliding, basic arm and combination strokes, and water safety skills. Available to participants 12 and up.

POOL INFORMATION Water Temperature is 80˚ F-82˚ F. Shallow area is 4-5 feet deep.

Diving well is 14-17 feet deep.

Lap Lane area contains 8 lanes at a depth of 6-7 feet.

Accessible means of entry include a portable chair lift and stairs entering the shallow section.
