Urban Prep's Annual Alumni Day 2023
Bridging the Gap: Urban Prep Alumni Return to Empower Students
On December 19th, Urban Prep hosted the 2023 Alumni Day event. This year's event was held at the Englewood Campus. Urban Prep Alumni from the inaugural Class of 2010 to 2023 returned to spend a day with their younger brothers. The day began with a special alumni panel in which students from Englewood and Bronzeville were able to ask questions. Alumni were open and honest with their responses telling current students about their successes as well as their downfalls and giving advice on how to be successful in college. Alumni had an opportunity to enjoy lunch with current students and truly bridge the gap and be a lifeline. Young men from the Englewood Campus under the leadership of Mr. Johnny Dorsey, held the Annual Kwanza Ceremony. The day also included popular basketball games. Alumni vs. Current Students and Current Students vs. Team UP. The event concluded with the Annual Winter Assembly where student received holiday gifts before the Winter Break.
