(Beaverton, OR) Arriving in Portland in 1990, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of the workshops for 22 miles of Westside Light Rail. Fast Forward to the 2000's and I am riding Westside LRT to work, to shop, to the zoo, to the grocery store. It is the normal mode of transportation for my five year old. We finally move to a house and from there catch the bus and transfer to LRT to get downtown or all of the other wonderful places it takes us. It is not about us, it is about our children. It is the new normal. This is a snapshot of a Saturday and how we get around. We love our light rail!
