What if the career path you want goes beyond your bachelor’s degree and requires graduate or professional education? Or, what if your interests involve pursuing two entirely different degrees at different colleges at Rochester? Through each Combined Degree Program, you’re granted a two-for-one deal: two offers of admission from one application. The selection process for each program is competitive with a thorough prescreening review process. But it’s not all or nothing—if you’re not selected as a finalist, you can still have your application considered for general admission to the College.
Combined Degree Programs (CDPs) combine a bachelor’s degree with a graduate/professional degree in education, engineering, epidemiology, or medicine or a bachelor’s degree with a second bachelor’s degree in music. Rochester’s CDPs—among just a few such programs in the country—can help you get where you’re going faster and achieve success along the way.
THESE PROGRAMS:
• Eliminate the graduate/professional school entrance exam requirement.
• Grant simultaneous admission to both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs, or allow you to pursue a degree of your choice while also pursuing a degree at the Eastman School of Music.
• Get your foot in the door through early involvement with exclusive events, mentoring, and networking.

Rochester’s pre-med program is one of the strongest in the country, because of the close partnerships between the faculty and students across our River campus and the adjacent medical school, hospitals and clinics. While all Rochester undergraduates have excellent academic preparation and opportunities for research, shadowing, and volunteering in our labs and clinics, the REMS program streamlines the medical school admissions process and provides distinct advantages for the most select few of our pre-med students.
WHEN SELECTED FOR REMS AS AN UNDERGRADUATE, YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
• A conditional guarantee of admission to the MD program at the School of Medicine and Dentistry (part of Rochester’s campus)

You shouldn’t have to choose between your passions for music and another discipline. The Dual Degree at Eastman (DDE) program at the University of Rochester combines the resources of the College and the world-renowned Eastman School of Music. It allows you to combine your interest in music with a specific academic discipline offered at the College.
Interested students can apply for DDE through separate applications with Eastman School of Music (Eastman application) and the College of Arts, Sciences & Engineering (Common or Coalition application). Typically, a DDE student can complete the requirements for both degrees in five years.
• The opportunity to simultaneously pursue degrees from a world-renowned music school and a prestigious tier-one research university
• Focused counseling from advisors at both the College and the Eastman School of Music
• The full use of amenities, services and resources on both campuses and ease in transportation between the two with a dedicated shuttle
Please note that DDE applicants must apply separately to the Eastman School of Music and to the College. Eastman School of Music maintains its own internal application and does not use either the Common Application or the Coalition for College Application.
