Weekly Newsletter Summer 2019 Week 3 We are delighted to announce that training sessions have now commenced at our new sports training ground at the York Club, Windsor Great Park. This fabulous facility is a short drive from the school and provides additional sports training facilities for field sports such as cricket, rugby, football and athletics. What a wonderful start to Thursday as the sun shone, the balloons wobbled and the bikes stood waiting for their riders. The children in Nursery were very excited to take part in the annual charity Pedal Push and to raise money for the local Alexander Devine charity. The children were able to complete 10 laps of the netball court, riding, scooting and walking their way round, encouraged by the supporting cheers of their families. Thank you so much to everyone who embraced this event and who, between you, raised in excess of £1700!
The SUPA Committee is pleased to announce that we now have a bin for recycling your old rinsed-out crisp packets. As you probably know, crisp packets are not recyclable through normal household recycling and end up as landfill. We have teamed up with Terracycle who will take our old crisp packets for ‘special’ recycling into plant pots and wheelbarrows! The extra bonus is that we will earn points for every packet which turns into money for charity. We know it’s not exactly removing single-use plastic – but it’s the best we can do at the moment. So, please rinse out your crisp packets and let’s Terracycle them for charity! The SUPA Committee
Wellbeing Tip of the Week So much time and effort is spent wanting to be different. Imagine if we spent that time being comfortable with who we are right now. One of our pupils in Form 3 recently set herself a charity challenge to swim 1km, much further than she had swum before, and asked friends and family to sponsor her. Holly successfully completed the swim last weekend and raised £300 for Young Minds! That is amazing Holly, well done.
