Weekly Newsletter Spring 2018 Week 4 We have had a busy and exciting week here at Upton House. On Monday four girls, Naia, Paris, Emma and Erin represented the school at The Marist Form 5 Maths challenge. There were 22 teams and Upton took second place, just pipped at the post in the last round. Well done girls. A visit from Buttercup the cow, a trip to see Arabian Nights at Sir William Perkins’s School and an incredible trip to the O2 followed through the week. We had a warm and wonderful welcome at Sir William Perkins’s and it was a delight to see some of our Form 6 girls from last year on our visit doing so well. The Form 6 girls have worked incredibly hard this year. We are so proud of them all. They have sat interviews and assessments for top Senior schools and they have offers for Wellington; Wycombe Abbey; Sir William Perkins’s School; Lady Eleanor Holles; St George’s Ascot; St George’s Weybridge; The Marist; Heathfield and more. Amongst the offers we have a high number of scholarship awards. The Form 2 boys have also worked extremely hard and are coming to the end of their assessments to join Papplewick or St John’s Beaumont in September. Once all offers are through we will publish the details for your interest Form 3 had great success at the netball match yesterday against The Marist winning 12 – 2. Fantastic shooting from Amber, Roxy and Isabelle. Great teamwork from all the girls. Well done. Form 5 hockey earlier in the week showed great play. Well done girls. Miss Walsh, our netball coach, will continue with us next term each Monday and Tuesday morning, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Thank you so much for your support for the Open Morning tomorrow. We have a high number of visitors attending, and your assistance is very much appreciated. The children should arrive for 9am at the Beaumont gate in the normal way, and should be collected at 12pm. We look forward to sharing and presenting our wonderful school to prospective parents tomorrow. Rhian Thornton The Senior Choir had an amazing night at the O2 Arena on Wednesday with Young Voices choir, singing alongside over 7,000 children from all across the UK. A truly unforgettable experience. Olya Shafikova
