Weekly Newsletter Spring 2018 Week 2 Dear Parent, The children have settled so well back into school life after the exciting Christmas break. The Form 6 girls continue to work through their assessments for Senior schools. They have worked very hard to prepare for their interviews and assessments. We are very proud of them. They have approached the entire process with great integrity and maturity. Well done girls. Reverend Margaret Bird visited this week and led the Prep assembly thinking about the stars in the sky; PCSO Bullock also visited and talked to all the children about Safer Stranger. The younger children were very excited when PCSO Bullock talked to Police Headquarters on his radio in Assembly, and the Sergeant wished all at Upton a very good morning on the radio! We are planning a celebration of the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. We would very much like to hold a special day or afternoon in the lead-up, as the wedding is taking place so close to Upton House! Congratulations to our Digital Leaders who were announced this week. They are Emily E, Florence G, Surahby, Janna, Amber S, Roxy, Paris and Sofia B. They will be leading the way for technology at Upton House. We look forward next week to the Swimming Gala for Prep, the Scholastic School Book Fair, netball and hockey fixtures and our Form 5 Assembly. Wishing you a very good weekend. Mrs Rhian Thornton

A reminder that next week we will be raising money for endangered sea turtles. Please would you send in your loose change (current British coins only) with you child. Thank you. We are pleased to be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair in school from Tuesday 23rd January to Monday 29th January, 3.30pm-4.30pm, situated at the back of the Dining Room/Glass Gallery. Children wishing to buy a book may bring money in a named purse/envelope, we would recommend no more than £10. Parents are also welcome to accompany their children if they prefer.

There are a few places left so please ensure you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We are looking for prizes for the Silent Auction to be held on the night of the Ball, as well as smaller prize items for the Wishing Tree. We would be grateful for any donations, however big of small.
