November Nostalgia “Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the Earth seeking the successive autumns.” —George Eliot

In a typical single-family home, around 69.3 gallons of water are used on a daily basis, with showers being the third-largest water guzzler in a home. If every American cut down shower time by two minutes, using one less gallon of water per shower, the annual water savings would be more than the yearly domestic water use of Finland. You can also cut down by taking showers instead of baths, which typically use about 50 gallons of water. Source: greenyour.com

These shor t stories tell tales of new friends, crazy neighbors, an array of animals, and her family, as Traster uses humor to convey her newfound lifestyle. Based on Traster’s New York Post column Burb Appeal, these brief stories show that navigating life in a rural suburb is not how she envisioned her future. — Compiled by Meghan Zanetich Please submit calendar items and books to Editor Nancy Meyer for consideration: nmeyer@scheinmedia.com
