Alijah Robert Adams was born to the parents of Robert Adams and Julie Vandas on March 31st, 2002 in Chicago, IL. At the age of 22, Alijah was reunited with God on June 1st, 2024. He is proceeded by his Papa, James Vandas, his cousin Izabella Vandas, and his grandfather, Robert Lewis.
Alijah’s humor and outgoing personality lit up every room he entered. His pranks kept those around him laughing and in high spirits. Whether he was cracking jokes or pulling hilarious stunts, his smile was contagious.
This became the legacy of “Oso”.
Beyond all the laughs, Oso was fiercely loyal and protective of his loved ones. He was the first to stand up for anyone in need and would go to great lengths to ensure the safety and happiness of those he cared about. His loyalty was matched only by his dedication to providing for his family, whom he cherished above all else.
Oso was inspired to create generational wealth for his loved ones. He was a provider and was always generous to others. He was a Quality Control Manager at American Highway. His work ethic and determination were evident in everything he achieved. He was always willing to go the extra mile in providing for others.
Oso’s legacy is lived on by his son, Alijah Robert Adams Jr.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his siblings Anthony, Aliya, Ariell, Angelo, Alexcia, Amiyah, Vivica, and Ashiyah; his nieces: Ameah, Malina, Aevah and his nephews: D’Angelo, Adrian Jordan, Alexander Alijah, Xavier, Giovanni, and Jamari, his Grandmothers: Cheryse Adams and Ruby Vandas, & father figure, Michael Peco, as well as an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Oso’s spirit will live on in the countless lives he has touched. His laughter and love will echo in our heart’s for eternity. Long Live Oso
I hear your laugh, on a whispers fly. Across the fields, beneath the sky. Though you’re not here, in earthly form, your spirit will always live, while I’m enduring this storm. Because no words can mend this gaping hole, the pain I bear, within my soul. But sleep now Son in peaceful rest, you are forever loved by the heart in my chest.
~ Love Dad
I closed my eyes for but a moment and suddenly a man stood where a boy used to be. I may not carry you in my arms, but I will always carry you in my heart. You have given me many reasons to be proud of the man you have become, but the proudest moment for me is telling others that… YOU ARE MY SON.
~ I love you now and forever, Ma.
When I am gone, release me, let me go I have so many things to see & do You must not tie yourself to me with tears Be happy that I have had so many years. I gave you my love, you can only guess How much you gave me in happiness
I thank you for the love each of you have shown, But now it is time I travelled on alone. So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories in your heart. I will not be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call & I will come Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near & if you listen with your heart, you will hear All of my love around you soft & clear Then, when you must come this way alone I will greet you with a smile & welcome you home.
~ Love Oso
