SECTION A: Practical Assignment on Application Software

Assignment Title: Exploring Application Software

Instructions:

1. Introduction: Begin by reviewing what you've learned about application software in class. Explain that this assignment will give them hands-on experience with various types of application software.

2. Assignment Components:

a. Word Processing (10 points): Create a document using word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word or Google Docs). The document should contain:

o Your name and class details at the top.

o A brief description (minimum of 100 words) of your favorite hobby or activity.

o A list of at least three formatting features used in the document (e.g., bold text, italicized text, bullet points, headings).

b. Spreadsheet (10 points): Create a basic spreadsheet using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets). The spreadsheet should include:

o A table with at least five rows and three columns.

o Enter numbers or data of your choice in the cells.

o Use a formula to calculate the sum of the numbers in one of the columns.

c. Web Browsing (10 points): Use a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) to find information about a famous scientist, artist, or historical figure of your choice. Write a short paragraph (minimum of 50 words) summarizing what you learned.

3. Submission: Compile all your work into a folder or document and submit it to your computer science teacher on or before the specified deadline.

4. Grading: Your assignment will be graded based on the completion of each component (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, web browsing), correct usage of software features, and the quality of your work.

Additional Notes:

 Ensure that your work is neat and well-organized.

 Save your files with appropriate names (e.g., "MyHobbyDocument.docx," "SpreadsheetAssignment.xlsx," "FamousScientistPresentation.pptx").

 Don't forget to proofread your writing for spelling and grammar errors.

 Ask your teacher for help if you encounter any difficulties with the software.
