Upper Canada College has been educating the next generation of leaders and innovators since 1829. Grounded in our values of learning, service, community, pluralism and wellbeing, UCC delivers transformational academic and co-curricular programming, including renowned athletics featuring top-level coaching and support.
Lang Scholars are exceptional student-athletes with strong leadership potential. Celebrating their demonstrated excellence, the program provides inspirational mentoring and leadership opportunities through a range of activities and initiatives. It was introduced in 2013 and honours remarkable alumnus Stu Lang ’70 — the most generous cumulative donor to an independent school in Canadian history.
A leadership development opportunity for outstanding student-athletes to access a fully funded UCC boarding experience.
The Lang National Scholarship is a direct-entry pathway to the selective Lang Scholar Program at UCC. Recipients will have access to dedicated leadership training, university counselling, community service projects, and expert mentors from the College’s alumni community and beyond.
In addition, Lang National Scholars will represent UCC at the varsity level and train and compete with top coaches and trainers in state-of-the-art facilities.
Student-athletes will live on UCC’s campus in the heart of Toronto with supportive boarding staff, a meal plan and organized social events.

“Attending UCC is the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s amazing to be part of this diversecommunity. I find whenever I need advice — such
as when I’m looking into university applications — there are teachers to help out or Year 12s, who just completed their own applications, to guide
me on my path.”
