ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: The Washington Liaison Office, Division of Information and External Relations (IERD). ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING: This position is located in the Washington Liaison Office (WLO) of UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund is a strategic Office within the Division of Information and External Relations (IERD). Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Director of the Washington Office, the Advocacy and Communications Specialist reinforces the capacity of the UNFPA WLO to build and enhance relationships between UNFPA and key US stakeholders. MAJOR ACTIVITIES/EXPECTED RESULTS: 1. Contribute to the efforts of the WLO to advocate and communicate UNFPA's mission and mandate with key US stakeholders; With the WLO Director, represent UNFPA in Washington, DC based meetings, events and coalitions; Coordinate UNFPA WLO policy/outreach events on Capitol Hill and with other partners including NGOs, think tanks and universities; Support and coordinate logistics for UNFPA senior staff missions to Washington, D.C. including helping to identify and coordinate their participation in high-profile events and meetings;
