New websites within the UN system UN in General

With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being. 24 October has been celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948. DESA Website available in all 6 UN languages http://www.un.org/desa To further promote multilingualism in the UN Secretariat, the new website of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) is now also available in all 6 UN languages. The new language sites provide the same set of interactive multimedia features and accessibility from mobile devices as the English version launched in June this year. All language versions are linked from the main site and come with an improved navigation structure to better incorporate latest developments on the Internet. Users have access to the About Us, In Focus, News and USG/ASGs pages in all UN official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).
