System of Environmental-Economic Accounting Central Framework
This book is a statistical framework that provides a comprehensive, consistent, comparable and flexible set of environmental-economic accounts for policy making, analysis and research purposes. Agenda 21 adopted at the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, called for the establishment of a programme to develop national Systems of integrated Environmental and Economic Accounting (SEEA) in all countries. In response to the continued need for environmental and environmental-economic information, the UN Statistical Commission established the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting (UNCEEA), an intergovernmental body composed of representatives from national statistical offices and international agencies, with the mandate to revise the SEEA. Forum on Crime and Society, Vol.7, 2008, Special Issue: Collecting Crime Data: Indicators and Measurement
This volume presents a number of approaches to improve the collection, reporting and analysis of crime and criminal justice statistics at the international level. It describes how the development of indicators on specific forms of crime such as trafficking in persons, smuggling of migrants and corruption can better our understanding of these criminal activities and enhance global efforts to prevent and control them. It also addresses how to improve the availability and comparability of crime and criminal justice statistics regarding a particular crime type (trafficking in persons), a specific criminal justice field (juvenile justice) or a particular geographic area (Europe). Finally, it presents ongoing efforts to develop an international crime classification system.
