A b rie f h is tor y The Ohio State Beauty Academy was originally founded in Columbus, Ohio, in 1935. The school was acquired in 1980 by George R. Schwier, who started with the organization in 1960 in Columbus, Ohio. The Academy has had various owners since that time with the University of Northwestern Ohio taking over ownership December 31, 2008.
