INTRODUCTION

Project Brief Design Overview

PROJECT BRIEF Aeolus Airlines is an airline company themed after its namesake, the Greek God and Keeper of the Winds, Aeolus. The couple who founded the airline— Dimitri and Elena Ambrose— set forth a focus on encouraging the public to travel to and learn more about Greece, where they grew up, whilst overall offering cheap deals and packages for travelling anywhere domestically or internationally as well.

D E S I G N O V E RV I E W In order to stand out from the abundance of other airlines, the Aeolus Airline brand employs iconic imagery from mythology to draw in individuals from Greek backgrounds, those interested in mythology, and people from cultures unfamiliar with such topics. The use of burnt orange, beige, and off-black are meant to be reminiscent of traditional Greek pottery, and this palette keeps the brand away from the more common colors of other airlines, which often include blue or red.

C O L O R PA L E T T E The primary color palette for the airline is comprised of burnt orange, light beige, and off black, that of which are the colors of an abundance of traditional Greek pottery. This theme of pottery also ties into the style of the company logo mark.

Each solid color is used, with the exception of light beige being utilized at 45% opacity when used as a background fill color (as seen in the section title dividers) and for the geometric pattern used in the decorative element (as seen on borders).

P R I M A RY T Y P E FA C E The primary typeface used in the logo and as main headers is Revans Medium, a bold, curved-serif in the colors off black and burnt orange, and only used in all-caps.
