MESSAGE FROM GRANDECON
The first year of any event is always the hardest. As the title sponsor, Stringam LLP provided the foundation required to move GrandeCon 2022 forward . It makes all the difference to Odyssey House.
OnJuly 15, GrandeCon opened the doors to the first year of the event and it’s unique proposition to create an annual event that would create a legacy of empowerment and inclusivity while supporting Odyssey House.
Countless hours of planning over the past two years finally culminated in the event becoming a reality for the region. Beyond the staff, volunteer and overall team efforts for the event, an initiative of this magnitude simply does not happen without a level of community support.
We could not be more grateful for Stringam LLP for stepping up to ensure the event began with not only corporate sponsorship but also by engaging with the event in a fun way at GrandeCon for the entire weekend. ON STAGE
The energy from the stage was undeniable at GrandeCon. Headline guest George Takei was introduced by Grande Prairie Regional Managing Partner Derek Van Tassell, KC and the crowd went wild. Throughout the course of the weekend, attendees were treated to live panels from the likes of Lou Ferrigno, Paul Spence (Deaner from Fubar), Veronica Taylor (the voice of Ash from Pokemon), and hometown hero Alex Zahara who also hosted the inaugural cosplay contest.
GRANDECON
The response from the attendees of GrandeCon was undeniable. There was authentic excitement and an absolutely electric atmosphere at the show on all three days of the event.
Not only did our friends from throughout the region enjoy themselves, the event received praise from visiting vendors, artists, and our celebrity guests. GrandeCon 2022 set the stage for what will become a part of the cultural fabric of Grande Prairie and we are both grateful and proud to have had Stringam LLP by our side. Thanks for your support!
