香港中華基督教青年會簡介
基 督 教 青 年 會 是 一 個 世 界 基 督 化 青 年 運 動， 其 旨 趣 以 ＜ 巴 黎 本 旨 ＞：「 在 聯 合 同 道 青 年， 即 凡 願 按 照 聖 經 奉 行 耶 穌 基 督 為 上 帝 與 救 主， 心 信 躬 行 為 其 門 徒， 更 願 協 力 推 廣 天 國 於 青 年 之 間 者 」 為 基 礎。 香 港 中 華 基 督 教 青 年 會 亦 基 於 此 本 旨 創 立 於 一 九 零 一 年， 故 在 憲 章 中 載 有 明 文「 本 會 以 奉 行 基 督 教 教 義， 培 養 青 年 完 全 人 格 及 服 務 社 會 為 宗旨」。 為 達 成 此 宗 旨， 藉 著 一 群 熱 心 的 基 督 徒 領 袖 和 義 工， 協 力 推 廣 多 項 程 序 活 動， 使 會 友 及 參 加 者 從 活動中得著建立： 1. 滿 足 個 人 生 活 興 趣 的 需 要 ； 2. 提 倡 有 意 義 的 康 樂 、文 化 、教 育 活 動 及 表 彰「非 以 役 人 ， 乃 役 於人 」 的 服 務 精 神 ； 3. 培 養 基 督 教 的 倫 理 觀 念 ； 4. 增 進 個 人 身 心 健 康 ； 5. 在 社 會 上 成 為 良 好 的 公 民 。 近 年 來， 多 種 事 工， 在 政 府、 眾 多 團 體 及 教 會 的 支 持 下， 工 區 遍 設 港、 九、 新 界 各 地， 服 務 單 位 逾四十個，會友人數逾七萬人。

About Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong
YMCA is a world Christian movement, with the Paris Basis as its mission: “The Young Men’s Christian Associations seek to unite those young men who, regarding Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour, according to the Holy Scriptures, desire to be His disciples in their faith and in their life, and to associate their efforts for the extension of His Kingdom amongst young men.” Based on the same mission, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong was established in 1901. The object and purpose were clearly stated in the Constitution as “the development of Christian character and the cultivation of the Christian spirit of service among young men, in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ.” To achieve this purpose, a group of fervent Christian leaders and friends initiated a wide range of activities: 1. through which members could develop their interests, 2. to promote meaningful recreational, cultural, educational activities; and the spirit to serve among the young people, 3. to promote Christian ethics, 4. to enhance the well-being of the individual, 5. to enable members to become good citizens of the society. Over the years, with constant support from the government, organisations and churches, the Association has expanded with centres all over the territory. At present, there are more than 40 service units with a total members of over 70,000.

香港中華基督教青年會致力培育 青 年 人 的 全 人 發 展， 助 其 成 為 有 責任感、具國際視野及愛心的世界 公 民。 隨 著 高 等 教 育 的 普 及， 大 專 院校成為我們接觸青年人一個重要的 渠 道 ，透 過 大 學 校 園 推 展 青 年 會運動， 並栽培一班青年人成為社會未來的領 袖。 經 過 十 年 耕 耘， 我 們 感 恩 看 見 大 學 及學院青年會的豐碩成果。 雖然大學及學院青年會在本會悠久的事工服 務 當 中 屬 於 較 後 起 步 的 一 環， 但 在 上 帝 的 帶 領 和 眷 顧 下 ，事 工 得 以 迅 速 發 展 。2 0 0 3 年，本 會 於 香 港 浸 會 大 學 開 展 首 間 大 學 青 年 會， 得 到 各方的讚譽。時至今日，我們已在八間大專院校 九 個 服 務 單 位 裡 聚 集 了 一 批 願 意 獻 身 服 務、 建 構 理 想 世 界 的 青年 人 。 今 年 三 月， 本 會 於 香 港 大 學 成 立 第 七 間 大 學 青 年 會，正標誌著這項事工進入一個新里程。我們期望 在 未 來 的 日 子， 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 事 工 能 陸 續 擴 展 至 本 港 其 餘 各間 大 專 院 校 ，全 面 培 育 大 學 生身、心、 靈 之 全 面 發 展。
Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong is committed to nurturing the holistic development of young people and to helping them become responsible and caring global citizens with an international perspective. With the popularisation of higher education, universities and colleges are important channels for us to get in touch with youngsters. 10 years have passed, we are blessed to see the fruitful development of the University & College YMCA. The University & College YMCA is young compared to other service units, but it certainly has developed rapidly through the grace of God. In 2003, we established the first University YMCA in Hong Kong Baptist University and it has been well-received. Now we are gathering young people in nine units in eight tertiary institutions who wish to make a better world through their services. The seventh University YMCA is established in the University of Hong Kong this year in March, significantly leading the University & College YMCA into a new era. We hope that the YMCA movement will gradually expand to other tertiary institutions paving the way for us to nurture the balanced physical, intellectual and spiritual development of university students.

大學及學院青年會 委員會主席的話 The Chairman of University & College YMCA Committee’s Remarks 大學及學院青年會是香港中華基督教青年會近年大力發展的其 中一項事工。踏入 2013 年，就是標誌著大學及學院青年會於香港成立十周年。本委員會感 恩迎接十周年之來臨，並為此向上帝獻上讚美。 回 望 過 去， 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 的 成 功 有 賴 董 事 會 的 鼎 力 支 持、 各 院 校 的 緊 密 合 作、 各 同 工 無 私 的 委 身 以 及 各 學 生 的 熱 情 付 出。 每 一 員 都 為 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 的 事 工 添 上 無 限 色 彩。 憑 各 方 的 決 心 和 毅 力， 事 工 得 以 推 動， 讓 青 年 領 袖 於 不 同 的 崗 位 上 服 務 他 人 ， 承 傳 青 年 會「非以役人，乃役以人」的服務精神。 整 年 的 慶 祝 活 動 以「 凝 聚 新 菁 ，匯 才 長 青 」為 主題，寓意大學及學院青年會為匯聚青年、存其菁英、匯聚才能、 永 遠 長 青 之 地 。 此 主 題 更 突 破 性 地 由 學 生 創 作 ，給予大學生發揮所長的機會，貢獻青年會的事工。 大學及學院青年會學生幹事聯合就職典禮暨愛筵於 3 月 22 日舉行；藉此歡迎各院校現屆學生幹事，並讓歷屆學 生 幹 事 聚 首 一 堂 ，分 享 喜 悅 。此 外 ，備 受 歡 迎 的聯校暑期服務團將於 6 月舉辦，帶領多達 100 名學生遠赴台灣、 印 尼 、 泰 國 、 韓 國 及 歐 洲 ， 探 討 不 同 的 世 界 性 和宗教議題。 十 周 年 慶 祝 活 動 的 另 一 焦 點 是 7 月 1 9 日 至 2 4 日 舉 辦 的 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 國 際 青 年 會 議。 該 會 議 主 題 為「 聯 繫 的 時 代 」， 屆 時 多 達 2 4 0 名 來 自 世 界 各 地 的 青 年 領 袖 將 匯 聚 於 香 港 烏 溪 沙 青 年 新 村 ， 作 多 元 化 的 議 題 探 討 和 文 化 交 流。 除 此 之 外 ， 將 於 1 1 月 舉 行 的 大 型 籌 款 活 動 無 疑 是 十 周 年 慶 祝 活 動 的 壓 軸 ； 所 籌 得 的 款 項 會 支 持 將 成 立 的 「 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 香 港 協 會 」 作 為 社 會 服 務活動之用。 於 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 成 立 十 載 之 時 ， 本 委 員 會 特 別 欣 喜「 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 香 港 協 會 」 的 成 立， 能 匯 聚 各 大 專 院 校 的 青 年 代 表 ， 提 升 聯 校 間 的 協 作 ， 讓 大 學 及學院青年會的服務愈趨完善。 展 望 未 來， 本 會 定 當 回 顧 過 去 的 成 果 ， 檢 視 策 略 ， 繼 續 致 力 推 動 事 工 的 發 展 ， 讓 它 的 足 跡 散 播 到 全 港 各 院 校， 並栽培更多青年領袖。

University & College YMCA plays an important role in the work of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong (CYMCA). This year we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of University & College YMCA, and would like to praise the Grace of God on this joyous occasion. Looking back, the success of University & College YMCA relies strongly on the generous support from the Board of CYMCA, the close collaborations with different tertiary institutions, the never-ending efforts from all the staff and great enthusiasm from students. The University & College YMCA would not have developed so enormously without their kind supports. With their determination and perseverance, the vision to nurture young leaders is able to promote and spread in Hong Kong. Through leadership training, youths serve in different positions and live up to the spirit of CYMCA: “To serve, but not to be served”. “Youths lead; Talent beats.” is the theme for the activities marking the University & College YMCA 10th Anniversary celebration. It signifies the characteristics of Uni-Y® and College-Y®, that we gather talented youths and inspire them to become future leaders. The Chinese slogan is especially written by one of our University & College YMCA members, it is a chance for them to show their creativity and contribute to the YMCA movement. The Joint Student Executive Committees Inauguration Ceremony is being held on 22 March 2013, which invites the current Student Executive Committee from different universities and colleges, and reunites all the past Student Executive Committee members to share this glorious moment. Moreover, Joint University Summer Trips 2013 is scheduled in June with more than 100 students going to Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea and Europe to explore global and religious issues. Another highlight of the celebration is the University & College YMCA International Youth Conference which will be held from 19 to 24 July 2013. “Link-Age” is the theme of the Conference, more than 240 international delegates will gather at Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village, Hong Kong to exchange ideas on social and cultural issues. The series of the 10th anniversary celebration events will end with a large-scale fundraising event in November. The fund raised will support the social services of “Hong Kong Alliance of University & College YMCA”. During the 10th Anniversary of University & College YMCA, it is honourable to announce the setup of “Hong Kong Alliance of University & College YMCA”. I am sure that the Alliance will further enhance the cooperation among universities and colleges, and enrich the service provided by CYMCA. Looking forward, the Committee applauses the achievements of University & College YMCA in the past ten years, and will surely support the future work in reaching out for more co-operations in universities and colleges and continuing to nurture more future young leaders.

2 0 0 3 年， 一 個 美 好 的 故 事 開 展 了 。 為 實 現 一 個 心 裏 構 思 已 久 的 理 想 ， 一 直 準 備 就 緒 ， 伺 機 而 動 ， 及 後 在 一 次 與 時 任 浸 會 大 學 輔 導 長 何 鏡 煒 博 士 的 會 面 中，把握機會提出大學青年會的計劃理念，獲得他同心和應和配合， 於 是 便 為 本 港 首 間 大 學 青 年 會 成 功 播 種 ， 一 路 走 來 轉 眼 已 是 十 載。 青 年 會 運 動 需 要 傳 承， 而 大 學 生 義 工 領 袖 在 當 中 擔 當 了 很 重 要 的 角 色 。 由 參 與 到 策 劃， 從 本 地 到 國 際 ， 大 學 青 年 會 不 單 讓 青 年 人 發 揮 了 潛 能 ， 以 生 命 影 響 生 命 ， 更 為 本 會 栽 培 和 儲 備 領 袖 人 才 ，以達承先啟後之效。 其 實 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 的 理 念 ， 就 是 要 培 養 出 一 批 有 崇 高 人 生 目 標 和 理 想、 具 遠 見 並 能 夠 針 對 當 代 社 會 需 要 貢 獻 社 會 的 青 年 領 袖 。他 們 有 社 會 責 任 心 、具國際視野，並且身體力行服務社會，為青年會的使命作出承擔， 薪火相傳地成為本會未來的僕人領袖。 感 謝 上 帝 恩 手 帶 領 、 董 事 會 、 大 學 及 學 院 委 員 會 、 各 伙 伴 大 學 和 學 院 的 支 持 和 指 導 ， 以 及 同 工 的 努 力 不 懈， 時 至 今 日 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 已 延 伸 至 本 地 八 間 大 專 院 校 九 個 服 務 單 位。 回 顧 過 去 十 年， 本 會 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 事 工 的 發 展 甚 為 理 想 ， 我 們 更 加 樂 見 其 他 地 區 的 青 年 會 如 新 加 坡 烏 節 路 青 年 會、 德 國 紐 倫 堡 青 年 會 和 泰 國 清 邁 青 年 會， 欣 賞 和 分 享 我 們 的 異 象 ， 並 陸 續 成 立 他 們 的 大 學 青 年 會 與 我 們 同 工。 看 見 歷 屆 同 學 與 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 同 步 茁 壯 成 長 ， 實 在 令 人 安 慰 及 振 奮。 未 來 數 年 將 會 是 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 的 鞏 固 期， 期 望 每 代 的 學 生 領 袖 都 能 委 身 帶 領 各 間 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會， 因 應 時 代 的 變 化 與 時 並 進， 不 斷 提 升 事 工 的 內 涵 與 質 素， 令 個 體 和 社 群 都 有 最 大 的 得 益 ， 實 踐 信 仰 ， 活 出基督，為上帝作工。 A wonderful story began in 2003. To achieve the vision which had been fermented in my heart for a long time, I had been on vigilance, always preparing myself just to wait for an opportune moment to act. When the chance to meet Dr. Eddie Ho, former Director of Student Affairs of the Hong Kong Baptist University came along, I grasped the opportunity to propose our concept of University YMCA to him. With our congruence in this common pursuit, we successfully established the first University YMCA. It has been 10 years since then to the present day. The YMCA Movement needs to be inherited from one generation to another and university student volunteer leaders have a very important role to play. From participation to planning, from Hong Kong to overseas, University & College YMCA enables young people to realise their potential and use their lives to influence others. It also allows the Association to nurture and develop potential leaders, carrying on the heritage and open up the future. In fact, the purpose of University & College YMCA is to cultivate a group of youth leaders with lofty goals and ideals. They should also have a long-term vision and be willing to contribute to society in response to the contemporary societal needs. With a strong sense of social responsibility and an international perspective, they should also set an example by personally serving the community and commit to achieving YMCA’s mission, passing the torch of the Association and being our future servant leaders. Praise the Lord for his grace and grateful for the support and guidance of the Board of Directors, the University & College YMCA Committee, partnering universities and colleges, as well as the unremitting efforts of all colleagues, University & College YMCA has hitherto been extended to eight local tertiary institutions with a total of nine service units. In retrospect, we have achieved remarkable development in the ministry of University & College YMCA in the past 10 years. We are more than happy to learn that YMCAs in other regions, such as Orchard Road YMCA of Singapore, Nuremberg YMCA of Germany and Chiang Mai YMCA of Thailand, appreciate and share our vision, and that they have also set up their University YMCAs. Witnessing the growth of students in the University & College YMCA, we are very pleased and encouraged. The next few years will be a period of consolidation for University & College YMCA. We expect student leaders of each generation will commit to lead the University & College YMCA in response to changing times and constantly enrich the content and enhance the quality of our ministry. In bringing the greatest benefits to individuals and communities, we would put our Christian faith into practice, live out Christ's example and be the faithful servant of our God.

大學及學院青年會 發展史 首屆「亞太區大學青年會地區會議」 The first "Asia & Pacific University YMCAs Regional Conference"
大學青年會是世界各地多個青年會架構下的一個環
青 年 會 具 備 強 大 的 國 際 網 絡， 每 年 均 安 排 學 生 到 不
球 性 組 織， 早 於 1856 年， 美 國 已 於 坎 伯 蘭 大 學 成
同 國 家 考 察、 服 務 及 實 習， 以 開 拓 青 年 人 的 視 野。
立 第 一 間 大 學 青 年 會 。 在 亞 洲 地 區 ， 香 港 、 日 本、
目 前 為 止 ， 學 生 的 足 跡 已 遍 佈 二 十 多 個 國 家。 自
韓 國、 印 度、 新 加 坡、 菲 律 賓 等 地 的 大 學 均 設 有 大
2004 年起開始舉辦「海外工作實習計劃」，至今有
學青 年 會 ， 發 展 日趨 成 熟 。
超過三百位同學參加，到各地青年會進行實習 工作。 2008 年，本會成功連繫亞太區各地大學青年會在港
香 港 中 華 基 督 教 青 年 會 自 1901 年 創 立， 至 今 在 香
舉 辦 首 屆「 亞 太 區 大 學 青 年 會 地 區 會 議 」， 往 後 每
港已服務超過一百年。2003 年，本港首間大學青年
年 在 亞 太 區 輪 流 舉 行， 而 學 生 幹 事 有 機 會 籌 辦 及 參
會 於 香 港 浸 會 大 學 成 立， 經 過 多 年 發 展， 至 今 全 港
與其中。
共有 九 間 大 學 及 學院 青 年 會 ，會 友 超 過 五 千 四 百人， 繼續 致 力 實 踐 「 非以 役 人 ， 乃 役 於 人 」 的 使 命 。
為 進 一 步 發 展「 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 」 事 工， 本 會 已 將 其 註 冊 成 為 專 用 名 稱。 有 見 服 務 漸 見 成 熟， 大 學
大 學 青 年 會 事 工 得 到 大 學 及 社 區 人 士 之 讚 譽， 擴 展
及 學 院 青 年 會 香 港 協 會 將 於 2 0 1 3 年 成 立， 以 加 強
迅 速， 遂 於 2007 年 在 香 港 中 文 大 學 崇 基 學 院 開 展
聯 繫 各 單 位 的 學 生 幹 事， 冀 能 達 到 協 同 效 應， 共 同
第二間大學青年會。2010 年，大學青年會相繼於香
推動本地之青年會運動，培訓社會的未來領袖 。
港科 技 大 學 、嶺 南 大 學 以 及 香 港 中 文 大 學 本 部 成立。 同 年 服 務 擴 至 本 地 專 上 教 育 學 院， 在 青 年 會 專 業 書 院 成 立 首 間 學 院 青 年 會， 並 於 2011 年 在 恒 生 管 理 學 院 成 立 第 二 間 學 院 青 年 會。2012 及 2013 年， 大 學青 年 會 相 繼 進 駐香 港 理 工 大 學 及 香 港 大 學 。 每間大學或學院青年會有一至兩名專業同工擔任學生 發展主任，服務會友，並與校方保持緊密聯繫。透過 領袖培訓、小組活動、個別輔導及諮詢服務，協助大 學生在學業及就業方面建立方向，並提升其溝通技巧、 組織及解難能力。透過思考、訓練和實踐，發揮學生 的潛能，使其成為具備適應力和仁德之心的社會棟樑。

History and Development of University & College YMCA
University YMCA (Uni-Y) is a global organization under the structure of YMCA worldwide. The first Uni-Y was established in the United States in 1856 in Cumberland University. The development of University YMCA is maturing in Asia, such as Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, India, Singapore and the Philippines. Since 1901, The Chinese Young Men's Christian Association (CYMCA) has been serving Hong Kong people for over a hundred years. In 2003, the first Uni-Y in Hong Kong was set up in Hong Kong Baptist University. Through years of development, there are nine Uni-Y and College YMCA (College-Y ®) in Hong Kong serving over 5,400 members to implement the mission of “To serve, but not to be served”. Uni-Y and College-Y are highly reputed and developing rapidly. In 2007, the second Uni-Y was set up in Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Subsequently, Uni-Y were established in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Lingnan University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010. In the same year, the first College-Y was established in YMCA College of Careers. And the second College-Y was set up in Hang Seng Management College in 2011. Uni-Y has stepped into The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Hong Kong in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
One to two professional staff are stationed in campus collaborating with university staff to help students with their studies and career goal development, as well as communication, organization and problem-solving skills. These could be achieved by leadership training course, group activities, individual counselling and consultation. Students can extend their leadership potential through planning, organizing and implementing various programmes. With the extensive international network of CYMCA, students can broaden their horizon by participating in exchange programmes, overseas voluntary services and internships. Their footprints have already spread over 20 countries. Since the implementation of Global Y’s Trainee Programme in 2004, over 300 students gained the opportunity to work overseas for YMCA. In 2008, CYMCA has successfully held the first “Asia & Pacific University YMCAs Regional Conference”, which was held every year to take turns in various places afterwards and with the involvement of student committees. To further consolidate the development of Uni-Y, the name is being registered. With the eventual maturation, Hong Kong Alliance of University & College YMCA will be founded in 2013 as a platform to connect student committees in all units to achieve synergy, also as a stronger force to promote youth activities and cultivate future leaders. 17

大學青年會第一次的野外迎新營！各會友盡情玩樂， 享受野外烹飪的樂趣！ It was the first Uni-Y Orientation Camp in wild! Members had fun and enjoyed rural cooking!

第二屆學生幹事訓練營主要向他們介紹大學青年會的理念 和架構；當中的歷奇活動提昇了他們的團隊精神及合作性。 Uni-Y mission and structure were passed to the 2nd Student Executive Committee in the training camp. Their team spirit and cooperation were also enhanced through adventurous activities.
透過與中學生服務智障兒童，我們期望社區人士能夠放下 偏見，達致共融。 With an aim to build a harmonious society without discrimination, we served the mentally challenged children with secondary school students.

一個寮屋體驗營讓本地大學生及交流生更深入地了解香港寮屋 居民生活、社會政策對他們的影響。 A Squatter Camp for HKBU local and exchange students was organized to explore more about the people squatting in Hong Kong, as well as how social policies affected their living.
十 周 年 紀 念 特刊 10th Anniversary Commemorative Book
與茶果嶺的小朋友相處了半年，大家都有過很快樂的時光。 最後，大家一起在九龍公園完成一幅以鞋拼成的愛心拼圖， 把愛宣揚開去。 We have spent a memorable half year with the children from Cha Kwo Ling. At the end of the programme, all of us have succeeded in creating a huge heart with colourful painted sneakers in Kowloon Park, identifying our aim to spread the message of love.
為實踐「非以役人，乃役於人」的精神，我們特地與深圳的大學生 攜手合作，完成雲南送暖之旅。 Acknowledging the spirit of CYMCA - “To serve, but not to be served”, we have collaborated with the university students from Shenzhen, and together we delivered our love and warmth to the underprivileged in Yunnan, China.
看 著 Uni-Y 一 年 一 年 的 茁 壯 成 長 ， 真 的 感 到 「 老 懷 安 慰 」 。Uni-Y 作 為 年 青 人 有 志 義 務 工 作 的 搖 籃， 一 直 努 力 將「 非 以 役 人 ， 乃 役 於 人 」 的 精 神 傳 承 下 去。 我 們 希 望 Uni-Y 的 事 工 能 於 各 大 學 裡 開 枝 散 葉， 讓 大 家 都感受到可以用自己的能力給予有需要的人一點點的 溫暖，是一件多麼美好的事。 “To serve, but not to be served” means a lot to the youths who are passionate in social services. We truly believe that it is meaningful to be a servant; and we are really pleased to see our beloved training ground for young passionate servants comes to its 10th Anniversary. Let us join hands and pass on the mission to more and more passionate youths.
我們於維園設置年宵攤位，把收益捐到泰國的孤兒及愛滋病兒童 的手上。 We set up a stall at Victoria Park’s Lunar New Year Fair to raise funds for the orphans and children affected by AIDS in Thailand.
我們前往成都石渠兒童之家，並協助村民建設風力發電機、太陽 能發電板以改善當地人民的生活水平！ We went to Chengdu Shiqu Children's Home and assisted the villagers there to build a wind generator and solar panels which could then improve their living standards! 27

我 們 常 常 充 滿 笑 聲、 動 力， 亦 有 一 份 年 青 人 的 熱 誠。 這 份 信念令我們成功為大學青年會籌劃一個又一個的活動。 Full of laughters, positive energy and passion, we have successfully organized different meaningful activities for Uni-Y (HKBU).
世界大同小組成員與第三屆學生幹事會主席，一同前 往日本參加「亞洲青年領袖交流計劃」。藉著探訪日 本東京大學、早稻田大學及一橋大學的宿舍青年會， 我們認識到當地的組織與架構。 Members of the Global Vision Group and the President of the 3rd Student Executive Committee went to Japan and participated in the “Asian Young Leaders Exchange Program” in 2007. We have visited the Dormitory YMCA in University of Tokyo, Waseda University and Hitotsubashi University. During the visit, we learnt a lot about the structure of their student organizations.

大學青年會讓我們一眾學生幹事建立了深厚 的友誼，我們一起度過很多困難，亦有很多 開心美滿的時刻。 The members of the Student Executive Committee met each other, became friends, s h a re d l a u g h t e r s a n d o v e rc a m e m a n y difficulties in time we shared in Uni-Y (HKBU).
“We serve with passion”，是 我 們 對 大 學 青 年 會 的承諾， 亦代表我們熱愛服務社群的心。我們組成一團熱烘烘 的 烈 火， 彼 此 激 勵 。 透 過 籌 辦 不 同 活 動 ， 讓 年 青 人 學 習如何自發性地改變世界。畢業多年後，這種精神依 然伴著我們在事業上大展鴻圖。我們衷心祝賀大學青 年 會 成 立 十 周 年， 未 來 繼 續 牽 動 更 多 青 年 人 融 入 社 群，締造和諧的社會。 “We serve with passion” represents our commitments towards Uni-Y and our enthusiasm to ser ve the community. We formed ourselves into passionate flames, and organized different events to serve the youths. Acknowledging the duty to change for a better world, we kept this upright spirit in our career after our graduation. We hereby express our heartfelt congratulations to Uni-Y for its 10th Anniversary, and wish more youths can be inspired!
「 年 輕 作 動 2007」 由 關 愛 社 群 小 組 所 籌 劃。 在 半 年 內， 籌 委 會 成員每星期與沙田區的邊緣青年一同參與舞蹈和樂隊訓練。最後 大家在沙田大會堂公開表演，藉此增強青少年的自信心和服務社 會的熱誠。 "Youngsters in Motion" is a six-month programme organized by Social Concern Group in 2007. Aiming to build up self-confidence of the youths at risk in Shatin and cultivate their heart to serve, subcommittee members from HKBU had music and dancing classes with them every week so as to prepare them for a public performance in Shatin Town Hall.
經過半年多的籌備，學生幹事會順利完成第三屆大學青年會 的迎新日！過程雖然辛苦，但卻換來一段珍貴的友誼！印在 衣 服 上 的 的 口 號 “We serve with passion”， 正 代 表 我 們 的 心 志，也是我們第三屆的口號！ After six months of preparation, we had successfully organized the Orientation Day in HKBU! We were all cheering for the success of the event as well as the friendship built within the team. Our Slogan – “We serve with passion”, which was printed on the T-shirt, showed our enthusiasm in serving the community!.
第三屆大學青年會的成功，要歸功於一直給我們支持、意見和力 量的兩位幹事，她們不單是我們的導師，更致力培育了一代又一 代的繼承者，令大學青年會的精神得以傳承下去。 Thanks for the support from 2 CYMCA staff . They are the two great mentors for us. With the advice and guidance from the two important ladies of Uni-Y, the spirit of Uni-Y is able to pass on to numerous successors.

在 第 四 屆 學 生 幹 事 會 的 就 職 典 禮 上， 紙 飛 機 在 各 位 來 賓 的 手上起飛，這標誌著第四屆學生幹事會正式成立！ In the inauguration ceremony of the 4 th Student Executive Committee, paper planes were flying off from the guests’ hands; this also signified that our committee had been officially formed!

自 2003 年 起， 大 學 青 年 會 已 積 極 開 展 大 學 生 的 義 工 服 務， 為 社 會 培 育 不 少 領 袖 。 今 年 對 大 學 青 年 會 可 謂 別 具 意 義！ 常 言 道 ： 人 生 有 幾 多 個 十 年 ？ 我 們 知 道 大 學青年會已踏入第一個十年，我們相信之後還會有無 限個十年。 在此衷心祝願大學及學院青年會未來會友人數有如滔 滔 江 水 ，綿 延 不絕 ，繼 續 承 傳「 非 以 役 人 ，乃 役於人」 精神。 Since 2003, Uni-Y has been actively involved in promoting social service for university students and nurtured a lot of social leaders. This year is such a significant year to the Uni-Y! As the saying goes: there are not many decades in life; now Uni-Y has entered its 10th year and we all believe that infinite decades are coming. 六位會友參加一個以「和平」為主題的體驗營，遠卦東帝汶交流、 體驗當地人民戰後的生活。 Six members visited East Timor, and participated in an experiential camp that advocates "Peace" and explores the living of those who have gone through war.
透過參與不同類型的歷奇活動和團隊訓練加強學生幹事間 的溝通及合作！ Through different adventurous activities team-building games, communication and co-operation skills among the student committee members were enhanced!
藉著與來自社會上不同界別的導師交流，會友在「師友聚」活動 中對將來事業發展的方向有更多的了解。 University YMCA members were inspired by the mentors in the mentorship programme on the choice of their future career.

兩日一夜的學生幹事訓練營增進了彼此的了解及 團隊精神。最難忘的回憶是分組生火煮飯！那才 驚覺我們當中原來卧虎藏龍！ The 2-day training camp had enhanced our teamwork and understanding among the Student Executive Committee members. One of the most unforgettable moments is the experience of wild cooking!
在 “Y Day Out” 迎新日中，有一百多名的新會友，透過介 紹和小組遊戲，加深了對大學青年會目標和活動的認識。 On orientation day - "Y Day Out”, we have introduced UniY’s objectives and activities to more than 100 members through presentations and games.
一眾學生幹事別出心栽，於校內的宣傳周極力推 廣 Uni-Y 的活動！ All members of the Student Executive Committee paid their efforts to promote Uni-Y programmes with great creativity and enthusiasm.

我 們 的 口 號：“Give me Five” 的 意 思 正 是 一隻手掌不會拍得響，需要大家擊掌才能 有 迴 響。 一 支 成 功 的 莊，怎少得一班出生 入死又同心協力的學生幹事呢？ Our slogan: “Give Me Five” refers to the fact that we all need others’ support and encouragement to create a fruitful impact! Together, we contributed to the success of Uni-Y. The supportive and close relationships among us brought unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships.
大 學 青 年 會 成 立 十 周 年 ，作 為「 那 些 年 」的 學生幹事， 眼見大學青年會發展如日方中，深深感動。 願大學及學院青年會： 承 前 人 之 基 石， 開 未 知 之 盛 世 ； 揚 基 督 之 精 神， 育 社 會之領袖；立心於天地，造福於人群。 As the past Student Executive Committee members, we are extremely happy and proud to see the flourishing development of Uni-Y. It was our pleasure to be part of the Uni-Y's continuing transformation and witness its success to build up a community of change-makers. We believe that Uni-Y will build on the foundations that the past committees have laid and continue to lead the way in treading new grounds, promoting the spirit of Christianity as well as forging future leaders.
「澳。遊」是一個探討全球暖化的活動，讓參加者深入認識全球 暖化對環境的影響。藉著到澳洲實地考察，讓參加者留意到全球 暖化的後果；又參與當地植樹計劃，為環保出一份力。 The study tour to Australia explored and discussed the issue of global warming. Understanding on the consequences and seriousness of global warming had been enhanced among the participants. We have also taken part in an afforestation project of Conservation Volunteer Australia (CVA)!
As Uni-Y continues to grow, it is our hope that we can stay resolute in our heartfelt belief – to be the change we want to see in the world.
「伙」柴人！之尋找城市的寶藏活動讓大學生帶領小學生認 識香港城市的文化保育。參加者一起到中上環區實地考察， 了解各歷史遺跡。 Led by university students, “Matches” is a programme under the Social Concern Group. It had involved primary school students in the discovery of Hong Kong cultural heritages. The participants have visited and studied different historical sites in Central that are of rich cultural value.
年「燒」讓大學生從籌備到經營，一手管理年宵攤檔；令籌委對 營商、生產貨品、銷售策略和建立形象等的知識有所提升。 Through setting up a stall at the Lunar New Year Fair, “Year Burn” is a programme that allows university students to gain knowledge and hands-on experience on entrepreneurship, marketing, strategic branding and production of goods. 33

Uni-Y in Action! 我 們 的 口 號：“Uni-Y in Action” 除 了 代 表 我 們 致 力 把 服 務 他 人 的 心 志 付 諸 行 動 外， 也 代 表 了 好 動、 熱 愛 青 春、 同 心 合 力的我們！ Our slogan: “Uni-Y in Action!” refers to the ambition to put our passion to serve into practices, and also highlights our lively, young and cooperative character!
“IFC” 探討全球糧食不均的議題，更深入孟加 拉首都和村落了解當地人士的生活。 此 活 動 更 獲 得 香 港 中 華 基 督 教 青 年 會 2010 卓越服務獎勵計劃專業程序獎冠軍。 The programme, “IFC”, stands for International Food Crisis and explored the unequal food distribution around the world. Including an exploration trip to the cities and villages in Bangladesh, the programme had honourably been awarded as the Champion for Professional Programme, Outstanding Service Award 2010 organized by Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong.

Uni-Y 是 一 個 神 奇 的 社 群 。 它 匯 聚 了 我 們 十 六 人， 也 讓我們看到不同的可能性。我們感激 Uni-Y 給予的機 遇 和 快 樂， 更 一 直 期 待 著 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 十 周 年 的 來 臨。 這 一 天， 終 於 到 了 。 俗 語 說 ： 人 生 有 幾 多 個 十 年 ？ 我 們 深 信 在 Uni-Y 這 個 充 滿 人 才 的 地 方 ， 未 來 數十年發展必會越來越豐盛。願 Uni-Y 有數不盡的十 年！

Uni-Y is an incredible community. It gathered us, 16 green persons; and showed us different possibilities. We are grateful for the opportunities and joy that we shared throughout the years and had always been looking forward to the 10th Anniversary of University & College YMCA. Now, the day has come. Some say that there are not many ten-year in a man’s life; but we say, with numerous talents, the development of Uni-Y could only be better in the coming 10 years, 20 years, 30 years….. We hereby wish Uni-Y countless years to come!

“Cheers!” 由 一 眾 籌 委 籌 劃， 主 要 服 務 低 收 入 家 庭 的 兒 童， 並 帶領他們認識香港不同的夕陽行業。最後的活動「墟市濃情 嘉年華」更於不同市民的支持下，獲得空前的成功。 “Cheers!” was organized by the sub-committees of Uni-Y (HKBU). Serving the children from low-income family, the university students lead the young participants to learn more about the declining industries in Hong Kong. The fun fair at the end of the programme was a great success!
“Fix Up” 融合設計和營商的意念，讓籌委有機會由設計意念、製作、 管理到售賣一手包辦。籌委特意設計創意「潮語」貨品，並到各區 進行義賣，獲得良好的口碑。 With the aim to enhance university students with event management skill, “Fix Up” served as a platform for sub-committee members to design trendy items, manage a social enterprise project and learn about marketing and promotion in a time. The Charity Sale at the end of the programme had also received positive responses. 35

十 周 年 紀 念 特刊 10th Anniversary Commemorative Book
「 公 平 行 者 」 籌 組 了 越 南 考 察 團 及「 貿 易 鬥 室 」 日 營， 著重推廣公平貿易的訊息。 “Fair Walker” is the programme of the Global Vision Group, we organized a study tour to Vietnam and an educational day camp to spread the message of Fair Trade to others.
「YMCAge 迎 新 日 營 」 吸 引 過 百 名 會 友 參 加， 讓 各 大 學 新 鮮 人 感 受 大 學 青 年 會的活力和快樂。 Expressing our joyful and energetic spirit, we had held an orientation day – “YMCAge” to over a hundred of Uni-Y members.
數 數 手 指， 落 莊 已 近 兩 年 ； 再 數 數 腳 趾 ， 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 就 這 樣 來 到 第 十 年。 就 像 我 們 第 七 屆 的 口 號 “Get A Unique Life!” 一 樣 ，Uni-Y 讓 我 們 每 一 個 都 找 到 屬 於 自 己 的 道 路 。 我 們 祝 賀 Uni-Y 繼 續 協 助 更 多 青 年 人 發 掘 潛 能 ， 並期 待 一 個 又 一 個 的 第 十 年 的 來臨！ Time flies and it had already been two years since we were no longer the Student Executive Committee members of the 7 th Uni-Y (HKBU). Meanwhile, the University & College YMCA has reached its first 10 th Anniversary! We hereby wish Uni-Y more and more 10th Anniversaries to come and never cease to help more youths to find their own path as we have encouraged by our slogan “Get A Unique Life!”. Uni-Y, high-five! 「獵綠者」以綠色消費為主題，並前往日本東京考察；回港後籌 委成功策劃了嘉年華會，以推廣綠色消費主義。 Advocating the concept of green consumption, the programme “Green Hunter” had undertaken an exploration trip to Tokyo and held an educational carnival.

“Life Savor” 探討廚餘問題，又通過舉辦教育日營，教導小朋友 珍惜食物、減少廚餘的重要性。 “Life Savor ” explored the problems of food waste. Through organising an educational day camp, we aimed to stress the importance of reducing food waste to the children.
十 周 年 紀 念 特刊 10th Anniversary Commemorative Book
“Global Salad” 鼓勵多元文化交流，並遠赴印度，與當地小孩進行活 動，宣揚多元共融的精神！ “Global Salad” is a programme that encouraged multicultural exchange. Sub-committee members went to India and organized various activities for the kids there, so as to promote the spirit of cultural diversity.
祝賀大學青年會十周年更進一步。 電視劇主角曾經說「人生有幾多個十年」—慨嘆人生 變 化 萬 千 ， 時 間 太 少 ， 故 要 活 在 當 下 。 有 17 個 豆 丁 看 罷 後， 他 們 怕 老 來 後 悔 ， 於 是 加 入 了 大 學 青 年 會， 為 義 務 工 作 出 一 分 力 ， 更 在 Uni-Y 的 栽 培 下 成 為 具 有 領 導 素 質、 熱 心 服 務 社 會 的 青 年 領 袖 。 有 人 問「 大 學 青 年 會 有 幾 多 個 十 年 ？ 」 ， 浸 大 的 第 八 屆 UNI-Y 祝 賀 她萬歲萬歲萬萬歲！ Congratulations to 10 th Anniversary of University & College YMCA! The most meaningful moments in our university life is undoubtedly the time when we, 17 kids, learnt and grew together as a close family in Uni-Y. We are all benefited from Uni-Y, a platform where it had always been nurturing leaders and volunteers with quality and passion. We are glad to share the joy of UniY’s 10-year-old birthday! 藉 著 四 小 組 籌 委 訓 練 營 和 當 中 的 歷 奇 活 動， 大 學 生 能 認 識 團 隊精神的重要。 Sub-committee members from the four core groups participated in an adventure-based training camp and had learnt the importance of teamwork!
“Goal Fighter” 籌委和洲立影藝合作，協辦電影作品聯展的開幕儀 式。此活動豐富籌委策劃大型活動的經驗，亦擴闊了他們對電影 工業的認識。 Sub-committee members of the programme, “Goal Fighter”, coorganized a film festival’s opening ceremony with Multiplex Cinema Limited (MCL Cinema). Apart from gaining valuable experience in event management, we had also broadened our understanding of the film industry.
“Kidults” 的 活 動 主 要 服 務 視 障 兒 童。 為 了 讓 大 家 更 了 解 視 障 兒 童 的 需 要， 籌 委 參 加 了 不 同 的 工 作 坊， 體 驗 不 同 程 度 視 障 人 士 的生活。 The programme, “Kidults”, mainly served visually-impaired children. Sub-committee members participated in different workshops to experience and understand more about the needs and living of them.

到 清 遠 進 行 單 車 籌 款 活 動， 我 們 出力，大家出錢，善心滿瀉！ Fundraising by cycling in Qing Yuan absolutely presented the willpower of the participants and generosity of donors.
Thanks to Uni-Y for giving me a brilliant university life! When we were student committees, we did grow up and learnt a lot by serving people. Knowing the development of Uni-Y is uneasy, we are really grateful about what it has been giving to univer sity students. 我 們 到 印 尼 短 宣， 傳 揚 主 愛， 看孩子們多喜歡我們所準備的 小手工呢！ We went for a mission trip to Indonesia. The kids loved our handcrafts so much.

大 學 青 年 會 給 予 我 們「 家 」 的 感 覺 ， 而 且 知 名 度 節 節 上 升， 在 各 大 專 院 校 都 建 立 了 口 碑， 這 些 都是靠大學青年會十年來一直努 力 而 得 到 的 收 獲。 祝 大 學 青 年 會 繼 續 擴 大， 讓 更 多 大 專 生 有 機 會 參 加 大 學 青 年 會 的 活 動， 有 機 會 從中得益。 Uni-Y gave us the feeling of “home”, and getting popular in universities. It is because of the effort paid by those who contribute to Uni-Y in these ten years. Wishing Uni-Y family can be enlarged to more universities so that more university members could be benefited. 到 緬 甸 之 行， 讓 我 們 知 道 更 多 發 展 中 國 家 的 實 況， 了 解 到更多貧窮問題。 Our service trip to Myanmar gave us practical information on the situation of developing countries and equipped us to understand more about poverty.
那一夜，我們都睡不好，卻深刻體會到餐風露宿者的感覺， 又得到人生中難忘的經歷。 On the night that we slept as a street sleeper, we did not sleep well, but we knew more about their feelings and gained a lifechanging experience.

生 命 誠 可 貴， 到 訪 母 親 的 抉 擇， 讓我們對生命有更多的了解。 Life is precious. We have a deeper understanding of lives after visiting Mother’s Choice.

Amazing 我 們 去 了 斯 里 蘭 卡， 探 訪 學 童 之 餘， 又 加 深 了 解 當 地 公 平 貿 易 的 情況，真是一趟有意義的旅程呢！ We went to Sri Lanka to visit pupils there and get to know more about fair trade. What a meaningful journey!

「獨樂樂，不如眾樂樂」讓獨居長者、義工跟大學生互相認識， 大家相處得樂也融融。 After a series of visits, Uni-Y members and volunteers learnt more about the singleton elders, and had a great and harmonious time together.

Uni-Y (CUHK) 會友透過「森心相印」活動到訪印尼，並親身感受當地的熱帶雨林被破壞的情況、參與植樹，回饋大自然。 Through the programme, “Loving Trees”, Uni-Y (CUHK) members visited Indonesia to know more about rainforest protection and contribute to the environment by engaging in tree planting.

「 愛 過 界． 孟 加 拉 國 際 服 務 之 旅 」 讓 本 地 Uni-Y 會 友 與 孟 加 拉 青 年 會 的 青 年 打 成 一 片。 此 旅 程 促 進 了 兩 地 文 化 交 流， 又 於 當 地青年會、學校和孤兒院進行服務。 “Love without Boundar y – Bangladesh International Ser vice Trip” gave Uni-Y members a chance to interact with the youths from Bangladesh YMCA. It had also facilitated fruitful cultural exchange between the two parties and had organized different social services in schools and orphanages in Bangladesh.
「 時光可變，童年不 變 O Night」 迎 新 活 動， 讓 會 友 認 識 大 學 青 年 會和不同學系的新朋友。 The Orientation Night gave participants a chance to know more about Uni-Y and friends from different faculties in university.

Uni-Y 會友遠赴斯里蘭卡探討公平貿易的議題和服侍當地兒童。 我們為當地青年會的幼兒院翻新牆壁，又參觀了茶園和茶廠， 加深了大學生對公平貿易的認識。 Through an exploration trip to Sri Lanka, Uni-Y members discussed the issue of Fair Trade and have organized social services to the children there. We have painted the walls of the kindergarten of Sri Lanka YMCA and visited tea farm and factories to enhance students’ knowledge on Fair Trade. 59

大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 十 周 年 快 樂 ！ 轉 眼 間， 大 學 及 學 院 青 年 會 已 在 8 所 專 上 院 校 發 展 至 9 個 單 位。 今 年 是 個 讓 我 們 回 顧 過 去 、 放 眼 未 來 的 里 程 碑。 我 們 衷 心 感 激 香 港 中 華 基 督 教 青 年 會 、 各 院 校 及 社 會 各 界 的 支 持， 以 及 各 幹 事 們 、 歷 屆 學 生 幹 事 和 會 友 的 貢 獻。 在 此， 我們祝願大學及學院青年會能夠繼續弘 揚「非以役人， 乃役於人」的精神，服務更多院校的學 生！
我們的莊名—「青鸞」中的「鸞」字有雙重意義。一個意思為 萬里晴空中展翅高飛的青鸞；第二個意思取其諧音，為聯合和 共同的含意，意指我們會聯合起來竭力把青年會的宗旨在中大 校園內發揚光大。未來一年，我們致力向同學提供新體驗和擴 闊眼界的機會，培育同學的身心靈均衡發展。 Our theme “Uni-Fly” refers to our hope to be as great as the flying Phoenix in pursuing our dreams. In the coming year, we are committed to provide Uni-Y members numerous opportunities to broaden their horizon and assist in their whole person development.
Happy 10th Anniversary to University & College YMCA! This year is a milestone for us to review our past and explore our future. In just a decade, nine Uni-Y & College-Y have been established in eight tertiary institutions. We would like to express our gratitude to Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong and other parties in society for their support; and the efforts contributed by the officers and members of Uni-Y. We sincerely hope that University & College YMCA can continue to spread the spirit of “To serve, but not to be served” and embrace more colleges into our family.

我們舉行了「飢饑十二」的大型籌款活動；參加者捱餓 12 小時，並把籌得的善款捐給香港世界宣明會。 We have organized a large-scale famine “Hunger Hunter” in HKUST in 2011. Participants fasted for 12 hours and fundraised for World Vision Hong Kong.

Being the first Student Executive Committee of University YMCA – HKUST, we are particularly grateful for its training. The time that we spent in Uni-Y has captured our beautiful moments and good times in our youth. 我們在校園內舉行了約兩星期的宣傳活動，藉此加 強科大學生對 Uni-Y 的認識。 To promote Uni-Y to the HKUST students, a counter was set up during the Promotion Week in campus for about two weeks.
「 區 事 黨 事 香 港 事 」 的 活 動 中， 大 學 生 帶 領 中 學 生 模 擬 立 法 會 的 運 作， 提 升 他 們對於自身公民責任的關注。 Uni-Y (HKUST) members led a group of secondary school students in the Model Legislative Council programme with an aim to raise their awareness of citizen responsibility.

「星惺相識新加坡水資源考察團」的參加者到新加坡學校為小學生服務，教授環境保育知識。 Participants of “Eco-tour Singapore 2011” visited local primary school and spread the knowledge of environmental protection to primary school students.
大學青年會（嶺南大學）的簽約儀式。Uni-Y (LU) 新的一頁於 2011 年 2 月 24 日開展！ Signing ceremony of University YMCA (Lingnan University). The new page of Uni-Y (LU) was started on 24 February 2011! 「關懷社會—城市遊蹤」的活動中，大學生與小學生一起進行城市定向，讓他們對社區有更 深入的認識。 Through various city hunt games, the university students led primary school students to learn more about the community that they are living in.

挪亞方舟訓練營－每位莊員都掛著愉快的笑臉，代表著我們的團體精神及和諧氣氛。 In our training we built up our team spirit and the harmonious atmosphere in Uni-Y.
向「 韓 程 萬 里 」 出 發！ 透 過 考 察 提 升 學 生 對 海 洋 生 態 的 認 識， 同 時 亦 提 供 機 會 讓 他 們 與 當地人作文化交流。 “The Korea Marine Ecology & Cultural Exchange Tour” helped students to know more about marine conservation and provided a chance of cultural exchange.
「童話同畫」－探訪聽障幼童。 We visited hearing-impaired kids and played games with them.

Uni-Y is a big family which keeps growing substantially. We have great advisors here to train us and let us try different things. Meanwhile, they are always willing to share their own valuable experience with us. Having new members every year, Uni-Y’s spirit is able to carry on and this can help to create a larger social impact to society.

The most touching moment of the Alumni Association of Uni-Y (HKBU) would probably be the kick-off section in our founding ceremony. Compared to Student Executive Committee, the Alumni Association is able to set up relatively long-term goals and development of social services. The executive committee members of Alumni Association of Uni-Y can choose to stay after one year’s term. Therefore, we are m o r e f l e x i b l e i n s e t t i n g u p l o n g term commitments and increase the effectiveness of our programmes.
It symbolizes the establishment of the association and implies our unity. After a year of work, now the members of Alumni Association (HKBU) are more familiar with our overall direction. In the summer of 2009, a group of graduate-to-be joined an overseas service trip organized by the University YMCA (Chung Chi College The Chinese University of Hong Kong). We went to serve the slum residents in Manila, The Philippines; and helped them to build the community there. The local people were really friendly and enthusiastic; and we became friends with them in a week! Throughout the journey, their living

We went to Taitung and visited those who are adversely affected by the Typhoon Morakat; we cared for the autistic children who are living in children rehabilitation center in Hangzhou; and we shared the rice dumplings with the singleton elderly in Sham Shui Po of Hong Kong.

Uni-Y is the teacher of my life and affects me in the recent 10 years. Nine years ago, I joined Uni-Y (HKBU) and organized a Lunar New Year Stall. Since then, I met many best friends and set up Y's Youth Club of Island South (YYCIS) together. Eight years ago, I met a person from Y’s Men in a service trip to Sichuan. He introduced me the first job in my life, and I lear nt the proper wor king attitude from him . My boss of my first job is also a Y's Men. He supervised me for four years, and taught me administrative work, which equipped me well in the job I work for now.

Uni-Y gives direction and meaning to my l i f e . S h o u l d t h e re b e no Uni-Y ever existed in my life, I would probably be an ordinar y person, working routinely in the weekdays and playing in the weekends. Uni-Y made me understand myself ; it helped me realize that engaging in volunteer works is one of the most important bits in my life. My life is brightened by Uni-Y, it gave me exposures and experiences that no one would ever have , such as the service trip to Bangladesh and the conference in U.S.A. When we were in the Uni-Y Student Executive Committee. we have more time for Uni-Y activities. However, we are now working individuals occupied by our jobs or part-time studies. In this situation, we have thousands of reasons excusing ourselves from devoting to volunteer works. Determination and enthusiasm are very important in keeping ourselves passionate to contribute to the Y ’s movement. Many a little makes a mickle. All of us in YYCK share the same mission and faith . We are a group of people who believe that only one of us is small and powerless, but it would become a great power if we gather. We do not aim to change the
world, but we want to contribute all we have to society. Fellowship is another element in YYCK which keeps all of us together. We treasure what we have in our life , especially those friends who share the same faith with us, as it would not be easy to find so many of them. Youth is a great source of power in our society and we target to implant a heart to serve and contribute in them. In view of this, we have organized a series of activities for secondary and university students to the elderlies in Sham Shui Po. In the last day of the programme, we were so moved to hear that they loved and treasured this chance to serve and they would like to continue their contribution. We thought we have found the right way to go! After years of exploration, we are on the right track to conduct our volunteer service plan; therefore the existing members of YYCK will continue to contribute as many efforts as we can to the Y’s Men. Besides, by recruiting secondary students as participants, we are introducing Uni-Y and Y ’s Men to them, target them as our potential future members and continue to cultivate their heart to contribute .

On the students’ Orientation Night in Lingnan University, every society was recruiting new members. When I walked to the booth of Uni-Y, a student who comes from Hong Kong Baptist University introduced Uni-Y to me. It is then I found that I can join different overseas community service programmes, not only the local ones. I can broaden my horizon and help 99
more people around the world. After his introduction , I immediately filled in the membership form without any doubts. In my university life, Uni-Y has always been around me. Uni-Y gave me many learning opportunities so as to let me grow. Although my term to serve as a Student Executive Committee has ended, I still want to stay with Uni-Y because of its friendliness; this encourages me to contribute to the Uni-Y in the future. I fell in love with Uni-Y at the first sight on the students' Orientation Night. I was the President of the 1 st Student Executive Committee of University YMCA (Lingnan University) and now I am a committee member of Youth Participation and Leadership Development in the Asia and Pacific Alliance of YMCAs. I believe this is fate, and it is amazingly unpredictable. Uni-Y gave me a lot of opportunities to learn and serve since I became one of the Student Executive Committee members. I made great improvements in communication skills and interpersonal skills; and Uni-Y gave me confidence to face different obstacles and challenges. The relationship between Uni-Y and I is strong and inseparable. Through representing Uni-Y in the APAY, I speak and report for Uni-Y activities. This is hoped that more overseas YMCAs will know more about Uni-Y in Hong Kong. I hope I can stay with Uni-Y after graduating from Lingnan University. I hope to be the 1 st Executive Committee member of A l u m n i Association of University YMCA (Lingnan U ni v e r s i t y ) so that I can continue to serve different people after graduation.
