Working alongside faculty mentors, students pursue meaningful research from day one, developing skills in original inquiry, critical thinking, and scholarly expression.
Rowan’s dedication to chemistry and contributions to one faculty member’s professional research project gave her the rare opportunity to be published as an undergraduate student. The skills and mentorship she received from this project motivate her as she now pursues a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

By applying what you learn in real-world settings, you’ll gain confidence, expand your professional networks, and clarify your goals. Our Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) works to provide support through a “career ecosystem.”
Beyond offering life-long career services in job search, interview preparation, and resumé review, OCPD engages students through programs like Redlands EDGE (Explore, Develop, Grow, and Excel) and annual Bulldog Treks where students receive real-world experience through internships, workshops, and networking. In 2025, students went on a Bulldog Trek to Seattle, Washington, to visit Google, Starbucks, Krusteaz, and other companies.
