Welcome to the spring newsletter! As the weather improves and the whole of Kent is covered in blossom we look forward to our third year students’ final projects. These are ambitious realised events taking place in our own facilities and venues around the southeast, promising to be a rich mix of interactive and immersive launch events and celebrations including experimental music and gaming experiences. Later in May they will be presenting 11 Degrees an end of year show of their work, which is open to the public from the 24th May till 1st June, (10.00 -5.00). This year’s study trip was to Paris and it proved to be a stimulating and energising visit. You can see images inside. Also in this edition is a profile of one of our alumni Chris Carr, Chris graduated in 2010 and set up his own company Lucid Illusions, which goes from strength to strength. As a leading research university we are pleased to include a section on lecturer Paul Gambrill who has been appointed as the creative lead on The Lighthouse Project a UoK 50th Anniversary Beacon Project led by colleague professor Nicola Shaughnessy in Drama.
