Faculty and Hands-On Learning Experiences

Hands-on learning experiences are the cornerstone of our approach to business education, which is why all Barney students complete at least one internship in their field of study prior to graduation.
Facilities
Much like our ever-evolving curriculum, our facilities keep pace with the needs of our students. We provide stateof-the-art, high-tech learning spaces, such as a new Bloomberg Trading Lab and Hubbell Center for Innovation that match today’s modern world. We recently added 10,000 square feet of space—and renovated another 1,300 square feet—in Auerbach Hall, home of the Barney School of Business. This enhanced learning environment allows our students to gain understanding and familiarity with business through experiential learning that mirrors real-world business settings.

3+1 ACCELERATED BUSINESS PROGRAM
Fast-track your business career through the 3+1 accelerated business program . Earn an undergraduate degree and your MBA, MSBA, or MSAT in just four years.
You will be part of a learning community with other students in the 3+1 accelerated business program, and you’ll have a dedicated advisor to support you throughout the completion of your degrees.

In his years at UHart, Robert Freeman ’25 traveled to Florida for a DECA conference, participated in the Men’s Ultimate Frisbee team, and completed an internship after his sophomore year—all while double majoring in accounting as well as business analytics and managerial economics

Montenegro, a business analytics and managerial economics major, started a full-time role at Cigna, working in underwriting and risk analysis. Ho was an entrepreneurial studies major and project management minor at the Barney School. Not only was she able to balance her major- and minor-related studies, but she made time for extracurriculars as well. Working as a peer mentor at the Career Studio, honoring her commitment as a residential assistant, and representing Barney as a student ambassador enabled her to acquire exceptional time management skills and expand her network.
Finance

Our finance major gives you a foundation in corporate finance, investments, portfolio management, and international finance. Students manage a live investment portfolio through the student-managed Investment Fund, using our Bloomberg Lab for real-time market analysis.

Students have plenty of opportunities to collaborate and work on crossfunctional teams in our trading room and analytics lab, collaboration rooms, and a commons area.”

Being set up for my career was one of my biggest worries when choosing a college. No one wants to pay for a higher education to be left with a degree that does not land them a job. UHart quickly eased this concern.”

Not only did this prove to me that supply chain and logistics was the field I wanted to pursue, but it also encouraged my passion for the subject.”
Krupinski chose to change his major to supply chain and logistics management because he felt it was a focused application to complement his previous Barney studies, making it easier for him to visualize and conceptualize the data that he was analyzing. He says his favorite aspect of this major was the out-of-the-classroom project experience he received.
