We prepare students to become professionals with a solid scientific and technical background, profound respect for life and human rights and the dignity of patients and their families, and a drive to serve society.

TEACHING METHODOLOGIES

BIOMEDICAL CAMPUS

The School of Medicine, together with the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA), is part of the University of Navarra’s Biomedical Campus, which carries out interdisciplinary and translational work encompassing multiple areas. Research at international level is carried out within different departments and centers and it promotes academic and social work that has a direct impact on students’ training.

70 YEARS TRAINING THE BEST DOCTORS

3RD

THE KEY YEAR

Halfway through their degree, students undertake a year of rotation that can be spent entirely in Pamplona or Madrid.

For a full academic year, students rotate between the departments that are essential for a doctor’s training: surgical specialties, psychiatry, pediatrics, gynecology, emergency medicine, radiology and primary care.

Students are and will always be the raison d’être of the School of Medicine; the axis around which its activity revolves. This approach involves a commitment to participatory teaching methodologies such as problem-based learning, teambased learning, medical simulation and discussion of clinical cases. This allows all students to play a leading role in their own education under the close supervision of and with guidance and support from each of their professors.

INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

The project has been designed over a number of years with advice from senior professors at Harvard Medical School, one of the leading educational centers when it comes to integrated curricula.

In addition, the School was one of the first centers in Spain to obtain the International Seal of Approval of Quality from the World Federation for Medical Education, an essential requirement to offer the specialization program or to organize stays in the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand from 2024 on.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Students studying the Degree in Medicine carry out practical sessions in the Simulation Center from their first year. This provides them with stateof-the-art practical training in a controlled, safe environment to improve their medical training.

In addition, the Simulation Center offers them the opportunity to tackle situations that are as realistic as possible and learn from their errors.

PROVEN SUCCESS

As far as possible, the curriculum content has been designed to help students prepare for and earn the highest possible score on the MIR exam, with 41% of students among the first 2,000 places, as well as examinations for admission to specialized training in Europe and the United States.

From the moment they become part of the School of Medicine, every student receives support from an academic advisor or mentor.

The School of Medicine has close ties to the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA). Together, they make up the University of Navarra’s Biomedical Campus.
