THE POLISH CULTURAL INSTITUTE AND UNIVERSAL ARTS PRESENT

Bite The Dust

Teatr Provisorium i Kompania Teatr, Poland Internationally renowned for their Fringe-First winning Ferdydurke, Poland’s Teatr Provisorium and Kompania Teatr, return with an adaptation of Tadeusz Rozewicz’s gripping WW2 drama about the heroics of Poland’s resistance army. Bite the Dust combines stark naturalism with touching sensitivity to masterfully evoke the horror and dehumanising effects of war. It portrays ordinary people who do not understand the senselessness of their actions. Now, at a time when civil conflicts are reported daily and freedomfighting is often portrayed as terrorism, this new production gives Bite the Dust a universal and contemporary relevance. ‘Thanks to this Lublin company we see Woyzeck resurrected on stage’ Roman Pawlowski, Gazeta Wyborcza Project supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute in preparation for the Polish Season in the UK 2009-2010
