+ Application for admission to the Unity College Trade Skills Centre (UCTSC) should be made in writing on this official form.
+ Return the completed form to the VET Coordinator of student’s home school.
+ Home School Principal to sign and forward to: UCTSC, PO Box 5141, Murray Bridge South, SA 5253.
+ Home schools will be invoiced directly for course costs. Course fees must be paid in full prior to commencement. Invoices are not issued to individuals.

QUALIFICATION

COURSE STRUCTURE
One full day per week (day to be negotiated)
COURSE OUTLINE
This qualification is intended for people interested in exposure to an engineering or related working environment, with a view to entering into employment in that area. This qualification will equip graduates with knowledge and skills which will enhance their prospects of employment in an engineering or related working environment.
There are 12 competencies covering a range of engineering subjects including fabrication, machining, welding, using tools and equipment, assembling engineering mechanisms and career development. The course finishes with students undertaking a group engineering project.
COURSE STRUCTURE
This VET course will run one day per week and students will also have course homework. Students will be absent during subject lessons and will need to make a commitment to catching up on schoolwork missed. The course will commence Week 3, Term 1, 2025.
UNIFORM
Safety glasses, safety boots (steel toed), cotton press long sleeved shirt and cotton press navy work pants (long) must be worn at all times in the workshop area. Students may provide their own boots and pants. The shirt will need to be purchased from the Unity College Uniform Shop and costs $46. A Trade Skills Centre jumper will also be available as a special order from the uniform shop.
We recommend that students supply their own welding helmet (shared helmets are provided but must be cleaned after each use).
WORKPLACE LEARNING
Students are encouraged to complete Workplace Learning during their course. Students can complete these hours during school holidays.
COST
More information will be provided at Course Counselling on the VET Readiness Orientation (VETRO) subsidy and to check eligibility. The course fee is approx. $290 for students meeting the eligibility requirements of VETRO. A $100 Unity College TSC administration fee will be invoiced to all students in Term 1, 2025 together with a resources cost of approx. $30 (includes MIG Welding gloves and safety glasses).

QUALIFICATION
SIS 30321 Certificate III in Fitness (Gym Instructor)
COURSE OUTLINE
With a Certificate III in Fitness, specialising as a Gym Instructor, students will work as part of a team of fitness professionals in a gym providing advice on using gym equipment and writing exercise programs, while also contributing to daily operations. The course may also include visits to fitness centres.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Students meeting the criteria will need to complete a Trade Skills Centre Enrolment Form. Students may be interviewed and will be notified if they are successful in gaining a place.
COURSE STRUCTURE
This is a VET course that will be run as block release, which will include after school hours. Students may be required to participate in excursions. It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on any class time missed.
UNIFORM
Students will be required to wear Unity College PE Uniform.
COST
The subsidised course fee is approx. $600. A $100 Unity College TSC administration fee will be invoiced to all students in Term 1, 2025. Cost is inclusive of excursions with industry mentors.

+ Facilitate the empowerment of older people and provide support to people living with dementia.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
+ Ability to safely perform manual handling and lifting.
+ Be able to obtain a DCSI clearance or NDIS worker. check, First Aid or CPR certificate and Police Clearance prior to work placement.
+ Provide evidence of a COVID-19 and Flu vaccination before training starts.

The Lutheran School system via Unity College provides Student Accident Cover. This worldwide policy provides 24 hour, 7 days a week cover in respect to injuries happening whilst students are engaged in school activities and school related extra-curricular activities (including Work Experience), organised school sporting activities and organised non-school sporting activities. Travel to and from the above mentioned is included. Emergency Ambulance cover is also included.

Release of Information
1. The UCTSC respects the privacy of personal and sensitive information regarding students and their family. The UCTSC collects personal information about the student and parent(s) or guardian(s) before commencement of a Vocational Education and Training (VET course). The primary purpose of collecting this information is to enable the UCTSC to provide appropriate training for the student.
2. Some of the information the UCTSC collects is to satisfy the UCTSC legal obligations, particularly to enable the UCTSC to discharge its duty of care.
3. Health information about students is sensitive information within the terms of the National Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act. We may ask you to provide medical information in some circumstances.
4. The UCTSC from time to time discloses personal and sensitive information to others for administrative and educational purposes. This includes government departments, AISSA, medical practitioners and people providing services to the UCTSC including hourly paid instructors (HPI’s).
5. The UCTSC from time to time is required to disclose personal and sensitive information in order to comply with the law or to report matters to the relevant persons or authorities.
6. If we do not obtain the information referred to above, we may not be able to enrol or continue the enrolment of the student.
7. Personal information collected from students is regularly disclosed to their parent(s) or guardian(s). There may be occasions where information such as training achievements, student activities and other news is published in newsletters, magazines and our website.
8. Parents or guardians may seek access to personal information collected about them and their child by contacting the UCTSC. However, there will be occasions when access is denied. Such occasions would include where access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others, where access may results in a breach of the UCTSC duty of care to the student, or where students have provided information in confidence.
9. If you provide the UCTSC with the personal information of others, such as doctors or emergency contacts, we encourage you to inform them that you are disclosing that information to the UCTSC and why, that they can access that information if they wish and that the UCTSC does not usually supply the information to third parties.
Parent/Guardian Declaration
As the enrolling parent(s) / guardian(s) at the Unity College Trade Skills Centre (UCTSC), I/we will abide by the conditions of enrolment. I/we accept:
1. That support of UCTSC staff and cooperation concerning training activities is essential.
2. That we will abide by UCTSC policies as amended from time to time.
3. That the UCTSC reserves the right to refuse training to a student for serious or continued breaches of UCTSC rules, regulations and/or policies, including conduct which brings into disrepute the good name and reputation of the UCTSC. This would be referred to the principal of the Home School.
4. The standards the UCTSC sets regarding uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE).
5. Responsibility for the payment of training fees and costs (including additional training materials as required).
6. That the UCTSC does not accept liability for damage or loss of any personal possessions of students and that insurance for students’ personal possessions is my/our responsibility.
7. That course fees must be paid in full prior to commencement to confirm enrolment.
8. That the UCTSC will withhold a $50 application fee if the student withdraws prior to commencement and will withhold all fees if the student withdraws after the commencement of agreed course.
9. And give consent to be contacted by mobile phone SMS text message for non-urgent matters concerning my/our child.
10. In the event of my child requiring urgent medical attention because of injury or some other condition, the Principal or appointed staff member will arrange for transport to an appropriate medical facility for treatment, and all medical expenses incurred will be payable by the student’s parents or guardian.
Student Agreement
As a student accepting enrolment at the Unity College Trade Skills Centre, I undertake to:
1. Make an honest effort to achieve my personal best in the course selected.
2. Act with respect towards teaching and non-teaching staff.
3. Behave in public in such a way as to uphold the expectations and reputation of the school.
4. Comply with school rules.
5. Comply with requests or directions from staff.
6. Adopt a responsible and positive attitude while attending the school and when involved in all school activities.
7. Wear appropriate workwear and safety equipment.
8. Be punctual and prepared for the course.
9. Positively participate in activities arranged by the school such as excursions, sporting carnivals and other school activities.
10. Refrain from the following forms of behaviour:
a. Disruption of lessons through inappropriate behaviour
b. Unauthorised absence from class or school
c. Undermining the Christian, ethical and moral values promoted by the school.
11. Refrain from the following forms of unacceptable behaviour while in the care of the school, at the school, at a school function or while travelling to and from school:
a. Possession or use of alcohol, tobacco or illicit drugs
b. Vandalism or theft
c. Intimidation or harassment of other people, physically, verbally or electronically offensive language or behaviour, or possession of offensive literature.
12. Use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in an appropriate way when communicating online, via mobile phone SMS or through any other medium, and comply with the guidelines set out in the Digital Charter of the College.
